Yes

How could one's lifestyle *not* be affected by others? In my case, my wife obviously has significant influence over my lifestyle, but government regulations also affect me by making things more expensive or more difficult to do.

Yes to an extant. I can honestly say that if I weren't with my husband, I would be more active in a much more healthy lifestyle. I do try but because I'm the one that has to push him as well, it in turn it makes me feel exhausted to actually achieve the way I would like to live. It's hard to be with someone who isn't really on the same page as you.
