I dont want a religion, or to be athiest. I just want to believe in my beliefs without being called a certain thing, because Christians are hypocrites(some) and everyone else's religion doesn't feel right to me.

I am a christian, but I don't got to church. I am firm in my beliefs and don't need a room full of people to prove it too.

Some religious believers are hypocrites, but you should generalize all religions like that.

Not in the least. I hate religion at most points, but believe what you want. Say "SCREW THE RULES, I DO OR DON'T HAVE MONEY!" and do your own thing.

Do what you like. There is so much intolerance and hatred towards people's beliefs in this world from both atheists and theists alike, that whatever you decide to do you'll get persecuted by someone. Just be true to who you are.

It sounds like you're still searching. This is not a bad thing. Keep yourself open to find truth for it really does set you free.

I'm a Traditional Roman Catholic and feel it is the best religion and only religion to communicate with God. I've been a Catholic all my life so you are on a journey I have never traveled. From time to time I fall into sin, (aka: hypocrite,) but when I go to confession and then go to holy Mass to receive God's body, blood, soul and divinity on my tongue, it gives me a strength I cannot even explain.

I'm not gonna say my life as a Catholic is perfect, it is not. It is difficult but worth the struggles. I do know in my heart that if life is too comfortable then I'm doing something wrong. :)

You may be in the dark at the moment, but some day you will find that switch that will turn on a light that will lead you.

May God help you on your journey to bless you and guide you to Him.

I made my decision on a more intellectual and Spiritual journey for the Truth, but the reason why all religions feel wrong is because they are. Judaism and Christianity come the closest, but they would rather rely on the traditions of men then on the Word of God for the most part which allows a lot of the practitioners to seem hypocritical to the Word they supposedly follow. That is why I searched, and am a Scripturalist, adhering to both Testaments and separating out all the traditions that are opposite of the Word from Icons and Statues to Greasy Grace philosophy that your baptism was a get out of jail free card to the Oral Torah that claims authority over God, Himself. If you are interested in learning more, let me know. Otherwise, I will pray for your search for Truth.

There's a lot of Deists out there or people who simply regard themselves as independent mystics (which is a fancier way of saying spiritual but not religious.)

That all depends on the eternal (eternity) results. After your "earth-suit" (body) stops functioning is too late to change your mind on the issue. I've made my choice (Yeshua Christ/Jesus) and am extremely pleased by that decision.

I don't have a religion. I'm not even agnostic, more nihilistic really - we can't prove if there's a god or not, so I don't believe anything, and I don't even bother thinking about it any more.

Or apathetic agnostic, considering my main reason for not caring is because you can't prove a god exists unless He wanted us to know, so until/if God's existence is proven/disproven, I see no valid reason to discuss it, as any theories have absolutely no merit.

Personally, I dont see how its a choice. Religions are based on humans(a) that other humans(b) beleived had a connection with the creator. The writings were mostly created by the B humans, years after, then passed through many hands and were modified and translated over the years. These religions contradict one another so they all can't be true.

How the universe was formed, Was it by a creator with purpose?, where did life come from?, what happens if anything after death? Were animals put here just to provide for humans? Why if there were people that had a connection or communication with a creator did they still believe the earth was flat?
Obviously, whether you believe something happened or not, or in the existience of something or not, it does not change whether did or does. So if you chose to believe; you therefore are supressing the logical use of your mind.

What would you make up? And by your own words, you would be "making it up" so therefore it doesn't make it true. Kind of a fantasy.
    Its up to you.

Problem is that you can't "make up" Jesus. He is who He is. You'd have to make something else up.

Well, not too good when you just make up something; that would be humanistic and that in itself is a dead-end religion as you end up the same place as the majority of the others that are not on that narrow way, Read: Matthew 7:13-14

It's fairly simple, really. We all fall short of the mark when it comes to God. No exceptions. God loves us anyway. But He cannot tolerate sin--that is, imperfection--in His Presence.

So He sent His Son to take the penalty. Jesus died, so we won't ever be separate from God again. Jesus rose from the dead, to show us that we will, someday.

    And He's coming back.
