As there is no proof that we came from god, it would make little difference if we only had a small amount of proof that we and apes shared a common ancestor.

However, we have tons of proof for our evolution.

We evolved from monocellular organism to complex ones... So yes, we and the apes share a common ancestor...

God very probably doesn't exist so, he's ruled out IMO..

But then, I'm not a good scientist, so I have no problem ruling it out... ;o)
(At least the usual definition of the abrahamic god that is...)

The thing about opinions are that they are not right or wrong. Facts are true, mistakes are false and fraud is a tapestry of lies.

But we SHOULD not do science based on OPINION. A fact is provable, a mistake is solvable and fraud can be found-out.

Thing is that opinions are rarely changed in the presence of fact, solution or evidence of fraud if the holder of the opinion does not want to change there opinion.

No matter how much a person shouts, wave there hands in the air, turn colors due to effort or call others outside of there names, that person is NOT going to change the other person's opinion.

The best thing any one person can do is present the best information that supports there favored position and give good reasoned responses to rebuttal.

Anything beyond that is just going to make things no better.

There is more proof regarding our ascension from primates not some historical figure named Jesus that was the son of a mystical deity.

Read my statement again and you will see that I did not deny that Jesus existed. I challenged the belief that he was the son of some mystical deity.

The question is wrong we did not come from apes but share a common ancestor, no proof any god was about at the time as they were invented many thousands of years later

actually some scientist are starting to believe that we were actually created by others means than a our "ape" cousins. We were created in a unique way that separates us from them. There are a lot of similarities but there are also so major differences that are unique only to us. Scientist are starting to believe that a "higher power" placed us hear instead of us evolving like everyone else. Their were other forms of humans but we survived the times.
fill free to research this if you don;t believe me

In my opinion God created everything you see and what you maybe can't see. Some one had to make apes, even if some peiople believe people can from Apes. This world as we know had to be created by something, and I believe it was GOD. So look around and you will see the proof everywhere, whether you want to accept it or not.

In my opinion, NO, we did not evolve from Apes. We share genetic structures and I believe we evolved together, tho separately, probably from the same or similar single cell organism.

The key to this dilemma is in the genetic makeup of Apes vs. Humans. Apes have 24 pairs of chromosomes and Humans have 23 the reason we have one less was that in the apes there are separate Number 2 and Number 3 But in Humans they were fused together only by Genetic manipulation. No random occurrence! This was done deliberately.

No evolution only happens inside species but a transition between species is not happening without direct Genetic manipulation.

Theresa, theresa, theresa. I have told you time and time again and shown you time and time again about speciation in both plants and animals. Microevolution and macroevolution are exactly the same, only on a different time scale.

Here is the same example I gave you previously (you obviously didn't read it):

Again I point you to genetics! Only recently we were able to duplicate these feats.
  • taylord... Theresa 2013/02/07 18:28:23
    taylordoesntdeserve
You don't understand. That study I showed you wasn't genetic manipulation. Speciation doesn't occur because of genetic manipulation.
  • Theresa taylord... 2013/02/07 18:35:53
    Theresa
Actually your study does not disprove it. What is involved is that a particular virus was used to splice together two distinct chromosomes together. This is not a random occurrence. It can only be done by us now using genetic manipulation. So your explanation does not give reason for this.
  • taylord... Theresa 2013/02/07 18:57:35
    taylordoesntdeserve
Lol, uh no. No where does it mention any sort of virus. They didn't do any gene splicing or manipulation, they simply collected the karyotypes.

I can lead you to knowledge but I can't make you understand.

We didn't "come from apes." We are theorized to have, as a species, evolved from the same common ancestor as other primates. And there is no reason that humans couldn't've both come from God and have been a result of evolution -- these two ideas are not mutually exclusive.

The world is more than 6,000 years old. Many species that existed 100,000 years ago do not exist today. Most human DNA sequences are shared with Apes as well as other mammals. There are more similarities between the DNA of humans and Apes. Studies of human mitochondrial DNA suggest that all humans are descendents of the same African woman.

One explanation for the DNA similarities between humans and apes is that we share a common ancestor but there is not evidence that this common ancestor was an ape. Some would propose the earth and all of its contents where created by God in 6 earth days....however, the sun which is used to determine an earth day was not created until day 3 suggesting this proposition is foolishness...furthermore it is not supported by available geological evidence. But that does not exclude the possibility that God guided evolution and continues to do so.

One must accept that while we can learn "how" something happens, we can never determine "why". Since "why" cannot be determined, science will always leave room for faith...as it should.

Hi! - You raise interesting points...Surprised that no reply so far...So you get me!

    1. The Age of Earth - This is the point I would like most to follow up on with you ...see below
    2. Common Ancestor - Yes indeed that 'common ancestor' is God the creator!
    3. If God be God then there is no problem with 6 days - 6 seconds - or as Muslims say 'be'!
    4. Sun on day 4 - See point 3 above
5, God guiding evolution ? - Now that is foolishness!

FOLLOW UP....Why don't we see new life spontaneously generating in the oceans of today ?
