My dad's side are french Acadians, they all make a lot of Acadian foods and everyone loves it, personally I don't like Acadian cuisine, but the non Acadians who would visit my household growing up seemed to love the stuff my father made.
My maternal great grandmother was well known for her pies, she always made the best ones, I remember having company walk in that house saying, "okay where is my pie?"
My mom makes this broccoli and cheese casserole dish for every potluck we're invited to. Everybody loves it, and we never have to bring home leftovers. She used to be known for her bbq ribs (with her "secret sauce") but she stopped making them years ago.
Im part Colombian & my mom makes really good Bunuelos (:
for anyone who doesnt know what this is, it's cheese (typically cream or goat cheese) stuffed in dough & fried. my mom makes the dough by herself & adds something extra to the center (idk what) that makes it taste so good.
