    Yes, I believe so. Joy permeates throughout the mind and body, while fun channels only the realm of physics–both are nice.

    There wasn't anything "fun" about childbirth, but it gave me incredible joy! After thinking about it, not all joyful things are fun, but most fun things I can think of generate a kind of joy. Anything that makes me laugh makes me feel a jolt of joy.

    Joy is deeper than fun. It's something that's just in you. I think fun is more temporal.

    Seeing a sunrise, meeting your true love, seeing your child for the first time; these are "joyous" experiences.
    A roller coaster, driving fast, playing outside when you're 8; these are "fun" experiences.

    "Joy" implies more of an emotional state, whereas "fun" tends to be more related to a physical activity.
