Is the thought of a woman raping a man serious or laughable?

Except in prison, why would a straight man rape another man? The FBI ONLY has records of male on female rapes. Is the FBI lying or covering up?

The same reason why straight men rape other men in prison. Why do you think straight men rape men in prison? It's a dominance thing. DOMINANCE. Sure, it could be partially because they want to get off and have something that resembles the feel of a vagina. But the majority of prison rapes are also...all about dominance. that's it.

What you're not getting is that just because the FBI doesn't have records of it, doesnt' mean it doesn't happen. The FBI's definition of rape was narrow and, frankly, insulting.

Why are you so concerned about the rape of a male? I think you'll agree men raping women is by far the larger issue. I hear the media keep saying we live in a rape culture. And I'm sure they're not talking about rape of males.

Why am I so concerned about the rape of a male? Because I'm not ignorant enough to think it doesn't happen and I wish to stand up to people who mock and ridicule rape victims.

I would never ridicule an actual rape victim. I have actually never knowingly known any rape victims in the real world I have met a few women who told me they had been raped. But being both very old and old fashioned, I care about the women who have been raped or almost raped. And I fear for my granddaughters, but I just have no respect for any man,with the exception of a disability, who can not defend himself, against any attack by anyone.

No, those are three viable ideas that are possible and I know have happened. Okay, I don't know for sure that the PoW thing has happened, but I know there have been men in hostage situations and I know that there have been men and boys beaten up by groups that far outnumber themselves.

If a man rapes a woman and she says "NO" this overrides all of her bodily signs that indicate she may want it.

So why can't it be the other way around? If a woman forces a man to have sex, even if verbally, and he has an erection and he says "NO" THAT IS RAPE AND THERE IS NO VIOLENCE IN THIS SCENARIO WHATSOEVER. The fact that you don't have any respect for the victim because he is a male shows you're moral character. It has NOTHING to do with you being a conservative or not.

Ok I've been reading much on the subject since I did this poll. And I see where the FBI has changed the definition of rape. And yes you are correct, only a small fraction are from strangers. The way they have it now , 2 college kids could be out drinking, go home and have sex and the woman can have buyer's remorse and charge rape. So it's a slippery slope.

ON the subject o male rape, yes it happens quite often in prison done by other men. But the poll question concerned a female on male rape. And there's the old saying "You can't rape the willing" OK that's a joke. But in my opinion a female rape of a male is also a joke. Unless you call it rape when his wife, girlfriend or a woman he just meant in a bar talks him into having sex, even though he may be tired and not wanting to have any. But that goes under the heading of seduction.

I know quite a bit about POWs in Hanoi, and there were no reports of rape.

Have you been to Hanoi as POW? Do you really think you know what happens to tortured Spec Ops soldiers and what not? Come on, now. Don't try to pull that too. What happens in PoW sites are often confidential.

I served with SEALteamONE Detachment Golf, mainly i the Rung Sat Special Zone. We were trained at SERE school on how to hold up under torture. I met some POWs years ago and they described the torture and not a one ever mentioned anything remotely connected to rape. There were no secrets, it would have come out if it happened. And 99% of of POWs were flyers.

That doesn't mean it can't happen. That's my big issue with you right now. You're claiming that there's no way in hell that these things could happen, because you have no "hard proof".


Do you know how many things in this world would be discarded and tossed out if we based things only on one definition, on cold hard facts, and not the idea that things ARE possible, even if we personally haven't seen it done?

OK Katherine, you wore me down. I'm an old man. Anything is possible. I think pigs may fly one day. But what is disturbing is figures like 1 in 4 women will be victims of sexual assault. The chance of a man being raped by a woman is more like 1 in 10 million.

Thanks for the link, I had read about VAWA renewal and GOP resistance because of the following clause "Physical resistance from the victim is not required to demonstrate lack of consent."

I asked a lawyer friend of mine and he said that for example a woman could meet a guy at a bar go with him, have sex and then have buyer's remorse and charge him with rape. He also said they had to include the both gender language to appease gay groups who contribute heavily to Obama and other Democrats.


But that FBI release goes on to say "The new definition does not change federal or state criminal codes or impact charging and prosecution on the local level. "

So it is still the status quo at the state level and rape is not a federal offense. It is handled completely at the state level.

Actually, that definition was changed this year so that is no longer the FBI definition of rape.

Yes that is correct and I only found out yesterday. And it was changed for record keeping only. Rape is not a federal crime. And in the FBI press release they went on to say that state statutes have not changed. I live in Pa. and to date, only men can be charged for raping women. Officially there is no male rape.
