If you remove the jobs from America and send them to other countries, the money you spend paying your overseas employees will not be spent on the American market, but on the Chinese, Indian, etc. markets because of proximity. Money taken out of a country does not benefit that country, but rather it harms it in the long run.

Tell business owners like Mitt Romney to stop outsource U.S. jobs, and then claiming he is the mighty jobs creator.

If our experience in the UK is anything to go by, yes indeed. Where once we had an industrial base that was the "workshop of the world", we now have a consumer society with high unemployment :-( But there is a backlash, some companies now even mention in their advertising that if you contact them you will be served by someone here in UK.
But maybe it's a case of bolting the stable door...

Our jobs are not being lost due to incompetent government policy's. This is what they are trying to accomplish. One of the biggest offenders being the EPA. And any other kinds of inspectors that our manufacturing company's have to deal with. And the tree huggers who think they are combating global warming by getting rid of that nasty noxious carbon dioxide. You know the stuff that plants use to make oxygen. And really when the manufacturing jobs go to China it will produce even more. Because they don't have to follow any rules and their sky and ours is all connected. These idiots think if the manufacturing gets done in China or wherever then those supposedly poisonous gases just can't get to us. Yeah it will all just stay in Chinese air.

To outsource to other nations via contracts always costs more. Always sounds like it is going to be a great deal, no unions to contend with, don't have to match minimum wages, it always has the inexperienced company owners just super happy to transfer functions to other regions/countries...........That is until they realize that the famous unforseen conditions and line items not included in the agreement are 40 and 50% higher in costs, than project that out based upon line items of work and contract period and you are in a world of dung.
I worked contracts for the Government toward the end of my working career and saw some contracts that cost a lot more using foreign labor than good old USA folks.

That's exactly what Mitt Romney does. No, wonder he believe in cutting the minimum wage in such a high cost economy.

I cannot completely blame business it is a slippery slope we weave. When business's are paying 35% in taxes it is hard to blame them when they send their corporate offices over seas. The problem is the spending here. We need to reduce Defense spending. Someone needs to explain why we need bases in Germany 70 years after the war ended? Not just there but many other places. We spend more on defense than anyone else in the world. Foreign aid is just as bad, oil subsidies on companies that make billions. I don't blame the Tea Party or other groups for protesting it is out of hand. One of the main problems is the American people pay too much attention to party garbage while both of them(GOP DEMS) are robbing us blind.

That is why Republicans including Mitt Romney wants to get rid of President Obama so they could avoid these kind of regulations and do what they want.

Why do you think they left? 35% tax rate
  • chgo JohnT 2012/06/12 17:54:02 (edited)

No, they left to take advantage of the cheap labor, goods, and the laws that favor them.

here's a graph explaining they are not taxed enough:

Why do you think it's so difficult to get the unemployment numbers down to a reasonable number? What's hurting our economy even more is laws were enacted that PAY these corporations from OUR TAXES to export them jobs to the other side of the Pacific. To add insult to injury, the Republicans are adament that these laws should remain as is because they signed Grover Norquist's "No Tax" pledge, not even these loopholes.

Outsourcing has hurt america buy sending jobs overseas. Because then they get
less wages for the job, but it create jobs in there country, but the price of everything is
the same. Every happy with Dollars store, but I remember growing up, my dad made
100.00 a week, but that is when house 14,000/ we had penny candy, cigarettes where
35 cents a pack. but as I grew up price of everything went up, and so did salaries,
some got out of control, that is what is hurting america, the other is people that don't
pay into taxes, which supports, medicare, medicaid, social security, and other programs
    that people enjoy.

Outsourcing to other countries has been going on for years however it is finally catching up with us when we allowed NAFTA to become law. The problem with NAFTA is the fact that it lifted the tarriff on importing which in turn gave the green light to every manufacturer to leave America and set up their factories in countries where they can pay their workers $2.00 an hour no benefits and they will work for 12-16 hours a day. It's good for the company but look what it has done to our economy.

During this countrys industrialization and growth through the 1800-1950 the government used to power of taarrif to assure the continued growth and development of our production be keeping the playing field level via import duty. First the let the autos come in which have now become rooted here, now everything is up for grabs. While at the same time these companies are setting themselves up to tap the hugh profits to be made as those contries develop. China for example only 150Million people are truely embedded in the economy but they have 1 billion people to go, guess we're irrelavant at this point.

The power to tarrif (duty), could bring them back or at least create new start ups.

That it would but where would that lead us? Other nations could retailate and China holds a strangle hold on several US companies. GE and GM just for starters.
