Is it silly i miss my dad?

I'm 14 and haven't seen my dad since I was 7. He left me, my mom, and my younger bro on r own when I was 2. He's been in and out of jail countless times and he smokes pot. He didn't want kids and ended up with 2 before graudating high school. He now has 3 other kids and lives somewhere I've never heard of.. My mom asks if I wanna visit him and I lie and say no. Is it silly to miss spending time with him?

It's not silly but from how it sounds, it's not in your best interest young lady. If you brought him into your life, he would probably do more harm than good.

It sucks how a lot of people have kids before their ready bcuz it hurts more then the rents.. It bugs me lots.

You are right but it's water under the bridge with your father. He is what he is. You look and seem to be a lovely girl. It's probably best to move forward from here and recognize him for what he really is and not the idealism you imagine him being. I reckon you are far better without him. In fact, if everything you're saying is accurate, I know you are.

Yeah that's true but like the fact that he says he doesn't want kids and has more is kind of stupid. My mum tells me, he may of treated her the way he did but he still loves us.. But the way he acts, I don't see it.
