Sun allergy is a condition in which sunlight triggers a skin reaction. For most people, sun allergy symptoms include an itchy red rash in areas that have been exposed to sunlight. A severe sun allergy may cause hives, blisters or other symptoms. There are several types of sun allergy — including polymorphic light eruption (PMLE), actinic prurigo, chronic actinic dermatitis (CAD) and solar urticaria.

Some people are extremely sensitive to sunlight and others are on medication that would make their skin burn quite easily if exposed to the sun for more than a few minutes.

Very much so! My husband has to be very careful when it comes to the sun. He wears long pants/sleeves most of the year, and always wears sunblock.

I work outside, when I am on a night job, I am wide awake at the end of the day, even after a 16 Hr Night.

When I work in direct sun, I am totally wore out after 8 Hrs.

If sunburn could be considered an allergy then I would say yes. If, on the other hand I just stood out there and got cooked then there is no allergy issue.

Yup, some people naturally lack the protection our bodies are meant to have, and some medicines make people photosensitive.

It is very possible. I know a boy who had to wear a hat, sunscreen, and Sunglasses even in the middle of winter because he would get hives from the sun. I am extremely sensitive to the sun and my doctor actually thinks I am allergic.

it can be treatable depending on where and how much of the body has it.. my grandpa had it just on his face and had to get skin peals until the cancer cells went away..

Kinda, some peoples skin have a weird pigment deficiency thing

Chemicals in the skin are broken down by the UV rays and can cook people... literally fry them, however that is extremely rare

A sun allergy is an immune system reaction to sunlight, most often, an itchy red rash. The most common locations include the "V" of the neck, the back of the hands, the outside surface of the arms and the lower legs. In rare cases, the skin reaction may be more severe, producing hives or small blisters that may even spread to skin in clothed areas.

I watched a ghost movie. The kids (ghosts) were allergic to light so they always close the curtains, but during the movie they didn't and nothing happened.

Yep the movie is called the others. And the absence of reaction from the kids is supposed to be the first hint for everyone watching it.
