The real question is "Is it possible for presidents to EVER tell the truth?" From where I'm sitting it doesn't appear so.

When I think of honest politicians, I think of people like Ron Paul and Gary Johnson who won't say they support something they don't to get votes. They stand by what they believe in and rely on people coming around to their line of thinking based on their arguments and on events that prove them right. It is possible for candidates like them to get elected, but there is still more waking up for people to do. Also I will make the point that Presidents don't need to lie for national security. They can refuse to answer questions that can affect national security.

the truth is ugly for some. Be honest about a mess, then we can discuss how to clean it up.

Americans are not hated individually around the world. Their Constitution and Bill of Rights are a beacon of light. American government is hated around the world for it's hypocrisy (invading, bombing and torturing people in other countries to death, and installing shier corrupt fascist dictator puppets via cooked up elections and supplying military hardware to repress dissent, which in America is called 'foreign aid', bringing 'democracy' and 'justice').

People in the world know about America's lies much better than Americans. Especially if you're from Egypt or another Arab/Muslim country. Taking some responsibility would be a breath of fresh air. If Obama would have stood up and said early we made a mistake by propping up your fascist dictator Mubarak, Egyptians would have bought every American flag they could get a grip on in their revolution against their tyranny.

Why not stop supporting and propping up terror regimes in order to steal resources or obey master Israel to get Arab countries destructed in ruins for Israel military hegemony.

Not only Middle East though, there is a pattern throughout 'ancient history' throughout the world too few Americans are aware of ...

Well under Mubarak we had stability in the sense that he signed a treaty with Israel. I think that was what the US wanted more than anything. And now he's gone, that is far more fragile and likely to explode. The Israelis are very nervous about the situation in Egypt.

Sure he signed a treaty with about 6 million Jews who invaded and ethnically cleansed a part of the Palestine area.

Israel is the violator of international and basic human laws, including starting many wars of aggression with their neighbors, using torture, having illegal nukes, murdering people in foreign countries, doing false flag attacks on Americans, and implementing a theocratic Apartheid state. I can't understand we in the West are supporting this ridiculous inhumane terrorist supremacy entity.

I thought WW2 lesson was never again, meaning never again ethnic cleansing and other atrocities.

I empathize with what you're saying, but they were given the go-ahead to create the state of Israel in 1948 as the spoils of war. There was unrest in that area long before 1948. I personally think it was a mistake to create a pseudo-country. No good has or ever will come of it. Both sides are vehemently bitter towards one another. They really see the other side as little more than rats. So much hate.....

' but they were given the go-ahead to create the state of Israel in 1948 as the spoils of war. There was unrest in that area long before 1948.'

True, it was a deal between international Zionist bankers and their controlled politicians to bring the US into WW1 in return for the UK giving these Zionists Palestine.

Their scheming added to European and American dead counts tremendously (without US support, UK and France would have made a peacedeal with Germany much earlier).

The money of these ultra rich bankers was mostly earned by financing wars, colonialism and profiteering of govs going into debt for these wars.

The entity called Israel is literally bought with European blood and war profiteering funds. Check how Rothschild dynasty made their tremendous wealth.

    blood money

Here's the UK's schemer, Mr Balfour, for Zionist bankers arranging the US having their sons murdered on the battle field for their supremacy cause..

There are things a President might be asked where either telling the truth or refusing to answer would seriously damage US covert operations or foreign policy. On issues like that we need a President who knows how to answer with an non-answer, or outright lie.

When I hear this question, I am reminded of Winston Churchill and Coventry. The allies captured an enigma machine and were decoding German transmissions almost in real time.

The Germans planned an air strike on the industrial center of Coventry. Churchill failed to warn the city of a devastating raid rather than give the enemy cause for thinking their code was broken.

By not speaking out, he kept the intelligence advantage in the hands of the allies. Without it, he could have forfeited an entire continent, and possibly war giving Hitler only a one front war against Russia.
