It's easy enough to find out Selena - Get a copy of your credit report! It's free and easy and if there are some blemishes on your report you can take steps to get them corrected.

You're smart to take care of these now; BEFORE you need good credit ratings.

When you don't pay for something - it's free.

There are a number of free credit check websites online. The fact that you are 16 has no bearing on your ability to use their services.

No. You are not a legal adult and cannot legally enter into a contract.
    You have no credit whatsoever.

Try not to make it a habit. Though it can't LEGALLY be held against you, some less than scrupulous companies will keep the information on file.

The best way is to take at least one college course. For whatever reason they seem to automatically give college students credit (anticipating mom & dad paying it off).

Apply for and get 2 (TWO) credit cards.
Keep one for emergencies ONLY (a party or lack of beer is NOT an emergency).
Use it every other month, just to keep active, and pay off within 15 days.

On the other, spend no more than what you can pay off EVERY month.
(Use it for gas or whatever, then set aside that amount into a savings account and pay it off at the end of the month).

After 2 years, you will have "excellent credit".

    Basic economics 101, you're welcome.
