some men are married but they don't wear a wedding Band.
I think that's not very fair.... it kinda of saying that the wife is their 'belonging' it's not the 1950's! i think everyone who is married should wear a wedding band INCLUDING the men!

This isn't really black & white yes or no question........Many men have jobs working with their hands where wearing a ring can be dangerous.

No it's not okay!!! The only time that I can think of when it is acceptable that a man doesn't wear his ring is if he is working on heavy machinery. Other than that, when he goes to the gym or does yard work, he is still expected to wear it. No excuses! If it's too small, get it fixed!!! And he can't say that he will scratch it or get it dirty, because there are products out there that stretch over rings to protect it when you do dirty jobs and stuff. Look it up. He should wear his wedding band too!

i think that they should if they're not doing anything that is working with their hands. If they dont ever wear their rings, like just to a restaurant, i dont like that, but if they are working with their hands, they dont have to

It actually depends. Some husbands and wives have legitimate reasons to not wear their wedding rings. Some have jobs that keep them from wearing a jewelry of any kind for a varity of safety reasons. Some have health reason why they can't wear a ring. Both parties should wear this symbol of marriage as often as possible if they can at all possibly do so.

Honestly, it depends. If a man works with his hands and the ring can be dangerous, then just wear it outside of work. The ring is just a symbol anyway. It's what the person does when the spouse isn't looking that really matters. There could be legit reasons, whether the man or woman doesn't wear the ring. If the spouse isn't wearing it b/c they don't respect the marriage, then that is another story, but if this is the case, then the partner is aware of it, and they need to make a long term plan to get out. I'm sure Katie Holmes planned her out for a long time.

I think it is up to each couple. Each one has different lifestyles and choices. And for example, I wear my engagement ring but i will also wear my formal collar, but my Daddy/fiancee will not wear anything.

I guess what im stating here is that with each couple it really depends on what they want to do, whether it be only the wife wears the rings or both do. Up to them really.

It really does not matter the Man wants his freedom he does not want to fill marry.............. I think you should talk to him, and see if it is because the ring is uncomfortable buy an other ring the idea of the ring is to let every body around you that you love your wife and the ring is telling don't even try to take my wife and don't try to get me.....to other people
But if he is not wearing the ring then find out the cause hope this comment helps, but take your reality with maturity because....sometimes truth hurts ! be strong and clever.

It can depend on the mans job, my husband was a firefighter and he chose not to wear his wedding ring because of a guy in his work who almost lost his finger when his ring got caught, but he wears it now he has retired.

If you are going to make her show the world shes a married woman then you should show the world you're a married man. The man obviously has bad intentions if he doesn't want to be thought as taken. A man should be proud of their wife and should wear the ring.

Actually, neither should wear wedding bands where there is a safety concern. Otherwise, that choice belongs to the individuals concerned.

really this is up to each individual couple but the only reason I'd be ok with the guy I end up marrying not wearing his ring is if it interferes with his job. that would also be the only reason I wouldn't wear mine.

the point of the ring is that it is a visible sign of the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman. If you get married you should be proud to show off your ring and let everyone know that you are bonded to your partner. Men or women not wearing their rings is really un cool.

A lot of the men around here work in the oil and gas fields and wearing a ring is a safety hazard because it could get caught on machinery and tear their finger off. My Dad never wore a ring for just that reason and my parents have been married forty years.

I meant to click the other answer. If the wife MUST wear the wedding ring at all times her husband should too. It'd be different if she's free to take it off as she pleases but chooses to always wear it.

If he has a job that requires him to have it off for saftey, that is okay, but other than that, you should respect you partner and wear your ring.

BUT..... as men work jobs where it is a safety hazard to wear rings or anything that can get caught in machinery it's not a good idea. Electricians too... rings can ruin a day.....

Women don't have to wear wedding rings. If I ever get married I probably wouldn't wear mine every day, because I'm not that fond of jewellery in general.
But I know that it's seen as more acceptable for men to not wear the ring than for women. Which isn't right.

I like your statement because a ring is such a trivial matter in marriage compared to all the complexities of marriage. My husband does not wear a wedding band since the day we were married and still does not wear one to this day. It's never been a point of contention between us and now years later i am glad i never made it a point of contention.
