Is it me or does the Motel 6 chain really suck?

In the past month I've traveled over night twice and each night I stayed at Motel 6 because I had had prior positive experiences with them but these two, one in Bellflower, California and the other in Eagle Pass, Texas have really left me dissapointed. Especially the one in Bellflower! My biggest problem with both of them was the beds, I mean it was like sleeping on a wooden slab! The one in Texas at least looked good and pretty clean but the one in California I thought something would crawl onto me. Is it just me or has anone else experienced this?

I always stay at a Best Western never have been in a Motel 6. I have always had good experience at Best Western but with all of them you need to check out the room ahead of making the payment to stay. We always make them show us the room, and even in expensive places which I shall let remain nameless we once found the bathroom real dirty and potato chips on the floor and how about dirty sheets. Yeah you have to check them closely regardless of brand name.

Just depends on the operator of the hotel. I've stayed at good and bad Motel 6's through the years.

But they always have. I actually stayed in a few when it was 6 bucks a night. Cost like a nickle for every ten minutes of TV. You had to literally put a coin in the TV.

You have just described the Motel 6 in Bellflower, California precisely! I should have known better when I arrived and saw a security guard checking room keys to get into the parking lot.
