Is it fair to make someone feel stupid for believing in superstitious nonsense like Slendermen and The Rake, Aliens and Bigfoot?

I was showing a friend how to play Slender (He shit himself) and my brother told me I was full of shit and told me it was gay and pathetic and just made to freak people out. I told him I believed it. And he got really pissed and moronic about it. He does it with anything even slightly mythos so what do you think?

I don't believe in superstition, but wouldn't make someone feel stupid for any beliefs. I would play tricks for sure. :)
