Is George Zimmerman guilty of 2nd degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin?

I think Tray Von Martin may have looked "suspicious". However, George Zimmerman seemed to have had a vigilante mindset. He followed the teenager when he was told not to. I am not sure what happened then. I hope all the information comes out at the trial. It is horrible for both families!!!

If you need to carry a gun as a neighborhood watch, then that neighborhood needs police patrolling, and if Mr. Zimmerman ensued Martin as claimed then, he is quilty of confronting someone he suspected of being a threat - what did he think would happen? Was Martin in the commission of a crime?? He wanted to be the law, got out of his car and what happened next, I guess the trial will give us more information. It is a tragedy for both families.

It ws self defense plain & simple, but the proseutors is playing politics bowing to pressure from the black activist's

Court will decide not me... hear the evidence then jury will make their decision...American way.... I must say the picture of Martin press put out was not a current pic of the boy before the incident.... looking at a current before the shooting...wow Martin didn't look like the American Kid.... but again...jury will decide the case...bark

He shouldn't have tried to take the law in his own hands. He was told to stop following Trayvon. It is really sad that a teen lost his life. I feel for his family and friends.

I prefer to wait till all the information is available.

If what Zimmerman says is true, then he acted in self defense an is innocent.

I don't know. I'm not on the jury, the jury hasn't even been chosen. The trial hasn't happened. Until all the evidence and testimony are presented, nobody can claim full knowledge of what happened.

This is more of a political persecution than a quest of for justice.

Zimmerman is guilty of manslaughter, he'll walk on the 2nd' charge and the state attny. knows it.

However he's not guilty until there's a verdict rendered in his trial...

The story changes so much.At this point.I think Zimm could have used better judgement.However,when Trayvon attacked Zimm and threw the first punch he sealed his faith.They can charge Zimm all day with 2nd degree murder.But,in the long run Zimm will either go free or get a much lesser charge.

How do we know? The trial hasn't even begun.

My gut says no. He is guilty of stupidty perhaps. He took the following of Trayvon to far and should have stayed in h is car as the 911 operator told him to. But that is not ilegal. I think Trayvon confronted Zimmernan because he was being followed and it led to a altercaton that unfortunately Zimmerman felt his life was in danger and he defended himself. The DA in this case should be prosecuted for submitting a false affadavitt. The facts don' add up to aa Second Degree murder charge. It was political pressure which she submitted to and thus violated her professional code of conduct. I'm also sick of the meda constantly showing the photo of Martin as a 12 year old boy and not the older much less sweet and innocent looking older teen that he was. Not that we should judge a book by it's cover but they are deliberately trying to prortray Martin as a little boy that could not have possibly made Zimmerman feel his life whas in danger. They are trying to stir up recacial hatred and overtones. Hopefully this will play out in the courts and justice will be served one way or another.

It was justifiable after Trayvon Martin knocked him down and started flailing away. Zimmerman's injuries are the most conclusive evidence of his justification.

We have no witness, by the way, who says that Zimmerman actually walked into that fight.

While I agree that George should not have left his car, what happened when he encountered Trayvon after leaving his vehicle is the only fact relevant to the correctness of the charge. For example, Trayvon may have been the agressor when the two men met face to face. We simply lack enough credible information to accurately assess what charge, if any, should be brought against George.

there were several eyewitness's,one a 14 yr old walking his dog.

And their testimony at trial will make or break the case. I agree with you.

The issue of Zimmerman/Martin is not worth the time it takes to comment. Every day in this world a quarter-million people die, yet so many want to make something of this while keeping the wars going, building drones, and growing communism. Let's get the priorities in order!

Mr. Zimmerman is being railroaded by racists and an over-zealous prosecutor trying to jump start her career. Even Alan Dershowitz, renouned left wing attorney and Harvard professor of law, says he thinks the 2nd degree murder charge cannot be sustained and that Corey has engaged in tactics which will eventually lead to prosecutorial misconduct charges being filed against her.
