Her race is uncertain, she was more than likely of mixed race, more European than African. She was the last of the Ptolemy dynasty to rule Egypt who were Macedonian Greek and all the daughters of the Ptolemy dynasty Pharaohs married within the family that being incestuous, brother married sister.

Some say her Grandmother was probably Nubian and Arabic mix, though this is only speculation. The only physical description we have of her is from Roman sources and does not mention her skin colour, which would normally be the case so she was most probably light skinned.

She WAS supposed to be a descendant of the Ptolemaic kings of Egypt installed after Alexander's death, this would have made her of Greek heritage. But, after a couple of hundred years who knows?
