For years, I have watched no television. Mainly cause I choose not too... kind of like a "media vegan." Well, a friend got me a nice flat screen t.v. lately. I am stunned at how seemingly complicated and expensive cable/satellite is. Wow. So, I bought a cheap antenna at target... now I can watch new Big Brother episodes, the Olympics, local news, ETV, and Seinfeld re-runs yeah.... Am I missing anything without Cable?

I would love to pay less!

But, for the amount I time I spend in front of it, it's probably a bargain :)

Comcast, what a joke....I pay almost $200 a month for cable, hbo, and internet. The internet runs slowly, their customer service blows, but there are no other options in my area except for Dish/Direct TV and I don't want.

This is our home town telephone company. They have a cable company that offer. We pay $28 for those premium channels. And I think we get about a 100 cable channels plus our local. Can't beat that. If Direct TV can beat that. I might just which to them, might

Last year we did away with cable T.V because it was getting way to costly so we did some research and we now have a ROKU. We now have unlimited access to many different movies and t.v showes. We have also converted our landline phone to a magicjack which is only around 30 dollars a year with free long distance and unlimited calling.

They catch ya at low rates then jump it up. They wanted more then 100 for cable and internet and there was no way I was going to do that. So I canceled it. Boy do I miss tv. I miss cartoon network. Now I spend most of my time on here. When I have money to blow i will get it back.
    love cable tv

Considering the crappy service we receive (pixelated channels during bad weather or whatever), and the fact that they do not credit for 'downtime'...YESH.

But then again, all our services suck for what we pay, and we accept it.

It is a waste of money because I can get most of it on the net for free, but for some strange reason I still pay £60 per month it.

It doesn't make sense to me for it to be high since cable tv sales air time to advertisers. Which means when I buy a product that is advertised I'm paying for the cable that way too. Wow, I wish I hadn't thought of it like that now...=:(

Our bill was going thru the roof so one day I called Direct TV and said I wanted to cancel several premium stations. To my utter amazement, they said "Oh, don't do that. We can help with the bill." Two months later and I have all the same stations plus one more and my bill is $30 LESS each month. When I called I was angry and really meant to cancel, but maybe they are feeling the heat and you can get a better deal, too. Can't hurt to try.
