Bullfighting is a disgusting and pathetic excuse for a sport. Shame on anyone who has enjoyed it or ever taken part in it in any way, shape, or form.

Bullfighting is animal cruelty wrapped in a blanket of "culture" and "sport".

In my opinion VERY cruel. Put two evenly matched boxers in the ring in a contest and they have made a conscious choice to be in that contest., so that's ok.The poor bull, on the other hand, has NO say in the matter....

Anyone who participates in this, or goes to watch this should be locked up.(Preferably in a room with the bull, just as weaponless and defenceless as he was) Sickos.

But it would be fun to watch if they didn't kill the bulls, and just gain points. Know what I mean?

Wouldn't this be up to Spain and Mexico? What right do we in the US have to determine what they do in those countries?

Very cruel, I heard of one time they set the bull's horns on fire while the people were in cages and they would stab at the bull.

It's basically torturing an animal for the pleasure of an audience. Yes, indeed, it is very cruel, particularly in the methods used to tease and taunt and prick these animals. And don't think it's a level playing field, folks. Those bulls are kept in the dark for a long time and then shoved out into bright sunlight and they basically are terrified in that arena. Then the big, brave matador gets to "mercifully" murder the animal for some more cheers. Hoopla.

It is time to retire the so-called sport and the mentality that allows it to exist.

But only becaue it isn't fair. The Bulls are heavily medicated and the fighter is given the advantage of throwing something over their faces. And animal will pause to try and remove something over their eyes. Take away the meds, take away the sheet and I bet the long line of men who think they have the Balls to do it dwindles down to nothing!

This is all part of the Spanish cult of machismo, but I can find nothing manly in it, and it seems pretty silly to me. These so-called matadors look like real fruitcakes dressed in their gaudy tights. Once in a while one of them gets mildly gored, but the bull always loses.

It really pisses me off. I want it gone forever. I feel sick inside for those poor bulls. What a horrible way to die. Anyone who participates, and that includes the audience is sick. Same way with dog fights. Sick. Sick. Who the heck get off watching watching pain and misery and cruelty???? Sick people.

It's cruel if you're the bull....but then you have been bred for that moment ... and it's part of the heritage of Spain. So my opinion is not really important since i'm not a spaniard.

I know it's a cultural thing, and I might view it differently if I was raised in that culture. So I'm not going to say the people from the countries that do like the sport are barbaric, I do eat meat. The hard part for me is, seeing the animal slowly die by getting stabbed by spears or swords while people watch and cheer, so I elect not to participate. I remember seeing on TV when I was a young kid, and it really bothered me, and I guess that feeling has stayed with me.

I say no with one reservation; in the Portuguese traditional the bull is not killed nor physically injured; the event is demonstration of bravery and technique by a man armed with a cape.

But so...? Is it any more cruel than walking cows through a chute and popping them in the head with high voltage? I mean, seriously--at least the bull has a fighting chance. And there's so much human-on-human cruelty in the world, this ranks WAY down at the bottom of my "things to worry about" list.
