Wow! It is quite obvious that you young people don't even know were the terms you use to describe yourselves even come from. Emo comes from the word emotional, and it was the original label given to those who were always in a deep state of depression. They were loners, cutters, and people who looked Gothic, but, rather than being into bats and vampires, they were simply very deeply feeling people who were easily brought down by the hateful world around them. It is so sad how out of touch people are with the terms they think describe them.

Actually.. Emo is short for emotional.. I know, one time I got extremely depressed, I stopped feeling everything except for pain. If I didn't cut, I would have gone mad.. The 'emo' kids that carve little hearts on their wrists or write stuff in their arms like the name of a loved one. They are just stupid.. Not emo. I've been depressed my whole life, but I never thought about hurting myself! I don't like hurting, and being depressed is enough hurt for me! I'm pretty much on an even keel now with the right meds. Have you ever sought help for what causes you to do it? Life sure is easier when you get help to stabilize your moods.

What caused, and I do not take medicine. It causes more trouble than it cures. And I'm not talking about being depressed, I'm depressed just about all the time. I am talking about when you feel absolutely no feeling what-so-ever. You won't know what that's like until it happens to you. The only thing I could feel was pain from the cutting, and it actually helped me because if I just felt nothing I would have gone crazy. Don't talk about what you don't know about, hun. I promise, if you say what you are saying, you know nothing about what I am talking about. And honestly, I hope you never experience it.

You sound like those of us who don't know what emo is are lacking in empathy or sympathy for others and that we're stupid for not knowing it. I'm ignorant about it, I admit, but I don't think it's something I should know or that most people know.
