Sex is constantly glorified on every type of media, you have it on TV, in music, children have access to pornography, etc., and most of us do things before we think and live in the present, leading to some stupid mistakes made by certain teenagers...

teens have been hormonal since there ever was a teenager. so since forever lol. In every era of time people have been sex crazed and horny. It happens and it's natural. so what's the difference between then and now? Knowledge. People can be safe while having sex so people have more of it. Teens and Adults. Adults are having just as much sex as teens are if not more. Thanks to the sexual revolution. <3

Some are, and more are addicted to the idea of sex, but the average teenager is not. Sure, many of them do have sex, but they're not addicted to it. If they didn't have sex for a week they wouldn't be shivering on the ground sweating and crying.

I am far from a teen. . . I do not even have teen nephews now as they have grown BUT I doubt the teen sex is anymore obsessed or into it than they have been in past decades. It will always be a topic. . . it sorta follows puberty after all.

Yes this is something entirely new. No other generation before today's teenagers ever thought of sex. In fact we never knew about it until our wedding night. The rest of us old folks are in sexual limbo not knowing what to do.

its a choice everyone's different. i wouldn't judge the majority or minority its quite stupid.if they want to have sex thats their issue.

I mean i learned abotu sex when i was abt 10 years old alote from the Tv, people, friends, Radio, ext doesnt matter its an individual thing

The are exposed to way too much sexual content in the media, but from my observations, as a middle school educator, they are not addicted to sex. I do believe that too many are experimenting with sex at too young an age.

Teenagers need to have more respect for their bodies, in my opinion. I mean, I would never drink or do drugs or have sex anytime soon. I'm still so young and I still don't even know what I want in life right now. Be certain you're making the right decision before you do it or you'll end up regretting it later.

Well there is that whole thing with raging horomones. And there's way more sexual content oom tv and in movies now. I mean a movie isnt considered R-rated unless it has the f-word in it multiple times. There's a lot one can do with a movie without putting that word in at all

I am a teen myself and yes i have done the sex ed classes a my school but these day teens have moe expose to sex than doing it that is my opinion

Dont believe that is true, its easier to get access to porn and open sexuality being allowed, but sex interest is hard wired, and has been since we crawled out of the swamp. Since the fifties its been more open and "noticed" But the biological imperative to reproduce is part of what we are as animals. I know my generation were just as interested in sex, we just didnt have the instantaneous ability to access it. That is what has changed.Just my 2 cents.

I'd hardly generalize it and say teens are addicted to sex though.

More exposed to sex and more sexually active at younger ages? Yes.

But i'd have to say teens that are actual sex addicts are likely in the minority.

Maybe its just me, but i interpreted the poll literally.

I presumed it would be common sense to word it as "in this era teens are heavily exposed to sex" if thats what they meant.

Sex is exploited on TV, Radio, Music, and even Video Games! It is kinda hard to avoid!! Then alot of parents wonder why their kid is Sexually active? Hmmm!

Again, being exposed to sex does NOT equal sexual addiction.

Parenting styles are likely the biggest culprit as to why so many teenagers today are irresponsible when it comes to sex.

I can't speak for any other parent, but for me, I am one of the lucky ones. My kid is still a virgin and she is going on 27 yrs old. I had her at 17. I also think that it has alot to do with generational difference..

depressed
stupid
sexually addicted/active
pregnant.
It's just the media and the hype it creates. I know about safe sex, surely other teenagers too.

No. There is only one difference to all the time before the internet: In these days the teens had to take some "hand on" approach to find out about (petting for example. Is that word still known with teens?).
If their mind is not up for anything like that, they don't ... but thats no difference to the older days.
Now they can research first online all about (and need not to buy magazines like BRAVO in the seventies). Some like what they find, others are disgusted. ... Again, thats no difference to the older days.
