I dont know why atheists assume that things like the House quote are true. It doesn't sense that the universe and earth and life all just magically happened out of no where. We have a brain that is unlike any computer any man can ever make, we have bodies that require food, water, and oxygen that the earth has, we live on a planet that is the absolute perfect distance from the sun, moon, ect. How could that possibly be an accident? How could that all just be good luck? It's not unreasonable to be religious. What is unreasonable is to believe that there is no higher power and everything came from nothing.
It bothers me that you assume I'm a hateful person when you do not know me and have no idea who I am. Some atheists are angered when Christians judge them, yet here you are judging me. Some atheists call us hypocritical, but judging me is one of many hypocritical things I've noticed an atheist can do. If you automatically assume I'm full of hate because I judge people of other religions, races, sexual orientations, or whatever else, then YOU are the one who is full of hate. I was friends with a girl in high school who was an atheist, one of my doctor is a hindu and I've always liked him a lot, and I've had a friend since junior high who is jewish. I've also had several gay friends and many black friends. I don't understand why some atheists think I'm racist. I understand that there are bad Christians who do seem to hate different religions and sexual orientations, but I am not one of them. Good Christians are taught to love everyone like God tells us to in the Bible and I'm tired of some atheists assuming that no Christian does and that they're all full of hate. I've been told I am prejudice for not believing what other people do, but I can't believe in EVERY religion, so how am I worse than anyone else? It's not any different than what an atheist does. I get hated on for bei...

I get hated on for being a Christian. I am judged the moment some atheists find out I'm a Christian and I'm called ignorant, gullible, and detrimental to society when ALL they know about me is that I'm a Christian. I've heard atheists say that they hate religion and there's a poll on here that asks what religion you hate the most. So why am I the one who is getting accused of hate here? Why do you seem so proud of that with that stupid little smile symbol you put next to you answer when you the one doing what you've accused me of?
Atheists can be hateful too. They have attacked Christians and other religious groups too. It's just that everyone gets insulted at one time or another, so everyone feels like they are the victiom and no one else is. Sometimes people try to stand up for their beliefs and end up getting really mean and intolerant. It's just as true for atheists as it is for anyone. By the way, Even George Washington knew that a country without religion is doomed to fail. A country without both morals and religion is doomed to collapse within itself.
Atheist are attacked daily, It is assumed because we don't believe in god that we are evil when in fact most atheist are atheist because they cant see past the fact that there is so much evil and hatred in this world and in religion.
"I am persuaded, you will permit me to observe that the path of true piety is so plain as to require but little political direction. To this consideration we ought to ascribe the absence of any regulation, respecting religion, from the Magna-Charta [Constitution] of our country"
George Washington, 1789, Papers, Presidential Series, 4:274
Like I said in my first comment, everyone gets attacked and everyone feels like a victim, including atheists. Just because you have been attacked before, doesn't mean the right thing to do is attack others. There are atheists who attack me and my family when ALL they know about us is that we're Christians. They think that we're guilty of what other Christians in the past have done to them. Christians do the same thing to atheists. All it does is causes more hate and disrespect. I know that there are Christians who have done bad things, but those are BAD Christians. Good Christians love other people like God tells them to, they don't judge others because God tells them not to, and they treat others with respect because they know they will be judged by God on the way they've treated others. Unlike bad Christians, they know the rules apply to them as much as they do to everyone else. Bad Christians think they are an exception or that they can choose which rules they follow. There are bad Christians and bad atheists. Religion is not the only thing that can cause someone to be a bad person. Evil is a human concept. Anyone can be evil and there have been many evil people in history who had no religion at all. The Columbine, Finland, and Jokela school shooters are good examples of some. If a Christian causes evil, they are a VERY bad Christian. If an atheist does it, they are just a bad person. God is not at fault for evil, evil humans are.
I recommend that you stick to only one graphic, and a few quick points.
I do what I can to make my little part of the world as free of religion as I can. When everyone keeps their religious opinions to themselves, then I will do the same, as I have no need or means to criticise any religion that any person keeps to themself.
Well a lot of that is pretty offensive!! No religion would mean for a lot of peaceful, innocent, good believers that something that keeps them going in life would be missing! Would that be fair??
well its offensive when I read post about atheist are evil and unbelivers should leave the country.... and allot worse. I really dont care if religion practices as long as they stop forcing it down every ones throghts, stop subjectifying women, abusing children and hiding pedophiles.
That is a very wide generalisation. It's a small percentage who give atheists and other non-believers a bad time! I find that atheists have a go at me all the time, and it really gets me down coz I'm not one of that small percentage!
I am fine without religion. I believe Christ came to bring salvation. Not to create an organization that could do the very opposite of what he can do 1 on 1 with us. While we may all (as Christians ) fall under the category of Religion given the Bible as a reference, when the Bible is submitted 1 at a time from an individual to Christ it takes on a "personalized" relationship that does not require a ruling body, other than God himself, to interpret. It is these ruling bodies that tend to try and intervene for God when they have no right to do so. Then, when they begin to spew ridiculous self serving banter, it becomes obvious to the non-believer that they (and hence God in their eyes) are full of it. Unfortunately they accomplish the opposite of what Christ would have us do as witnesses.
I found your post very honest and I appreciate you oppinion on my post. Thank you I would have to agree with most of your post. I, also in making this post am being self serving after frustrations over comments about "unbelivers"
I can understand and am sorry you have suffered from hurtful words. You won't get them from me. I don't compromise my beliefs but I don't shove them down anybody's throat. People wanted to be around Christ in his day even when he was speaking hard truths. If a Christian doesn't have people wanting to be around them to hear what they are saying then they need to re-examine Christs walk.
