I did. I see them (happened twice at the same store, different clerks) all the time and know they would have to pay the shortage out of their pocket.
They've both been very nice to me.
I would still do it even if I didn't know the person. Wired that way I guess.
If you were at the store and they gave you too much change, would you give the extra change back or would you keep it?

I worked as a clerk before. I wouldn't want them to get fired over it. Maybe they are just learning or having an "off" day.
I would feel bad keeping it.
But i would if i knew.

The Cashier Drawers are checked when they are brought out and checked when they are brought back .. I'd feel really sick knowing that the extra this clerk mistakenly gave me would be putting the drawer in imbalance (and getting the clerk into trouble too).
If the cashier was rude...then no.
