Hit more research libraries, buy more book, make more phone calls, write a whole bunch more letters. I was using it when it was called ARPANET and they had this neat idea to give each of us a virtual mailbox, and you went crazy trying to tell PhDs that in FORTRAN IV there was a difference between a decimal point and a period. Arrrrgh.

I remember when there was no internet. I'd do what I did then....do without. There is always something to do that does not involve the internet. Sex comes to mind.

I'd probably find something else as this is beginning to get boring. I find myself arguing against the unknown that disagrees with me. I suppose it is time to realize that for the most part there are two sides to every story. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. We may not like them but they have equal rights. What I'm saying is that it is time for another life doing somting else.

Maybe it is time to prepare my bucket list. There are things I'd like to think about whether good or bad depending on whose perspective they are determined to be good or bad. I definitely have a few things that I would like to try but I'm a chicken.

When I grew up----we didn't have computers, cell phones, basically a bit of black & white TV, land lines, telephone booths, movies at the Theater on Friday night and books. I'd be fine-----I still read a lot, don't have my own cell phone (Mary has to have one because she works at the Court House as a Victim Advocate.) I have several thousand books and old magazines, I'd be perfectly comfortable. Don't need it, wouldn't miss it. If we had an energy pulse that knocked it all out---we'd have some peace and quiet. When I'm out hunting and fishing do you think I'm carrying one??? Nope, just leave a note of the area I'll be in. I can imagine having a cell phone ring or even vibrate if I'm close to something!! People that must have a cell glued to their ear or just play games on the computer are wasting their life and from the size of some of them!!!! they'll have health problems and perhaps vision problems. That's why I'm only on Soda once in awhile and when that bores me ----I'm gone. Now I think I'll reload some ammo and finish a good book.

That would be a useful life. I'm not into reading but I started a post card collection over 60 years ago and have them from all over the world. I could do something with that. I also statrted collecting old magazines from about 1900- 1920 era. A few are still going strong or I should say they are still going.

prior to the internet being common in homes ..
it was quite active a time for families ..
    we'd READ .. play board games ..

actually talked (gasp) without TEXTING each other
(you know .. with REAL VOICES)
and didn't have to hide behind screens

I have tons of shows/movies downloaded that I can watch...video games galore...3 novels to write... recipes to sort through...unending books to read...sex to have with my husband...I am sure I could entertain myself for a while.

But I still want to have the internet, okay?

I would find a new way to occupy myself. Most likely, I would spend more time writing my book. I would spend more time doing my philosophical pondering.
