I loved my twenties, I got married, had my children and learned how to grow up and be more responsible. Now that I am 41, I'm not married anymore, and 2 of my 3 kids still live with me.
Thank you! As you might not know I got a 6 year old Down Syndrome daughter..I absolutely adore Sarah Palin..She has a Down Syndrome son..Now she could get something done about abortions and she would advocate adoption! Just know that World War 3 occurs on Sodahead when I hit abortion polls! LOL
Thank you! We took her to the lake today and she was the center of attention..Its like everybody wanted to pick her up, make sand castles and take her out to swim..She is always smiling so it just melts peoples' heart..She is a loving little girl..I bet if you came over to my house she would crawl right in your lap!!
LOL...I need that year to save money..when we turned 18 at my house it was out you go...If I woke up tomorrow at 18 I would be broke and on the street.....
Sorry, I wouldn't want you getting kicked out of the nest without any savings...lolz That's funny, did they have any exceptions, like could you ask for an extension to your time at home coz of ill health or a recent trauma of some kind?
In the 60's most kids had real jobs by 16..I worked around my neighborhood from the age of 12 painting fences, mowing, raking leaves, house chores for neighbors etc..if you wanted stuff..you had to work for it. Your butt got prepared for going out on your own..I was born with a heart condition but that did not stop me from working at Hardee's or the local pizza place...Funny pic..LOL..believe me back then turning 18 meant we could leave home...and could hardly wait to do it...
Thank you for the explanation & elaboration. In many ways this type of preparation is what's lacking today. And parents are not preparing their young to live independently rather they view them ad an emotional buffer.
I don't wish for earlier times in my life and I look forward to the future, but obviously I don't want that to come now so I take it day by day. Enjoy life as much as I can.
