Oh, I realize that, but my vehicle is not in the best condition, and I know it better. So I doubt they would get very far before they blow the engine or transmission. And, if they need my vehicle because they wrecked theirs, I'd be the fool to give it up. They'll have to arrest me.

They'd better tell me why and have a DAMN good reason, and I am staying in the backseat, after calling someone with the peoples' description so that if they are lying about being the police and drive off with my car and me in it, someone can make a proper report.

Today its sometimes hard enough to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Hell no, someone say's polic "We need to take your car", They better have a lot of proof plus their own insurance and some cash in hand.

No need to fear the police Bob they don't have that much power and I'm sure it would work out just fine. A vehicle is considered personal property so unless they have court order defining the use of someones vehicle they could not. I doubt they'd wait that long.They need a search warrant to enter the vehicle period

My 22yr old POS pickup with the duct tape seating, doors that you have to slam to close, missing shifter knob, windows that don't roll up or down completely & seat that is now rusted in place - sure.

Because I know the current finances of the city and state I live in are terrible shape they don't pay their bills period, and if it came back in pieces I would just be out of a car and screwed taking years to get some reimbursement back. They have a program called "takehomacar" for the police here and you see cops pulling their personal boats, stopping at the grocery store with kids in the car all on the public's gas card and all in the name of public neighborhood policing/safety if they have enough cars to do that they sure as hell don't need mine.
