If someone makes a meal for you that you don't like, do you say anything?

Possibly, if they seemed receptive to constructive criticism. Otherwise I'd just grin and bear it.

Of course not. Who would do such a cruel thing? If I fixed a meal and someone said something like that, I can guarantee you that they would be fixing the next meal, or at the very least eating somewhere else. (Excluding children under a certain age, of course).

I agree with you. It's rude to say something like that. I'm not very picky when it comes to food though.

That rarely ever occurs since I cook about 99% of the meals we eat, but even if my mother-in-law made something that was a little off I certainly wouldn't hurt her feelings over it.

I would let him/her know , without breaking hearts , that it is not my taste at all . Because
sowieso he/she will see that I don't eat much .

I'd say "yum yum this is the best whatever I've ever had".

The only exception is parsnips... I can't eat them at all; I retch when I try and swallow them.

I love parsnips, then again I have not come across a food that I didn't like. It's a good thing I eat healthy, and don't snack on junk or I would be a BIG person.

Everybody says how much they love parsnips, how sweet they are, how delicious when glazed and roasted, etc. The thing is that there is just something about the taste that triggers my gag reflex!

I love carrots, turnip, swede, etc... it's just parsnips that I. literally, can't stomach.

I guess that's why it's a good thing we have many choices in our world. Most people don't like everything, and there's always a different choice. I guess you would be in trouble if you were stranded on a parsnip farm, LOL.

Honesty is fine in most situations, but you have to use discretion. I can't imagine telling my 83 year old mother-in-law she messed up. For one thing, she's been cooking long enough to know if somethings a bit off, and me bringing it up, in her house after she took the time to cook, isn't a good time for honesty. I would grin and bear it.

I never have said it but then again, the only time I didn't like something was when my grandmother forgot to put sugar in apple pie but I couldn't say anything either. I'm not picky though.

Thanks but no thank you would be my response.

Of course I rarely find myself committed to dinner invitations without first having knowledge of the menu proposed.

In the rare event the menu changes, I opt out with no excuses or suggestions. No thank you, none for me is short and sweet.
