Actually, I might shoot, but not at them. More to scare them than anything else. I might whack them in the head with it :) I think I'd be too scared to actually shoot at them :s

Good call! I do that to incapacitate them , then i tie them up and forget about them for a couple days, then i call the cops!

One must use caution when shooting an intruder.. Make sure he is dead before he hits the floor,, if you just wound them, than shoot them while they are down you could face Manslaughter charges... We have the castle Doctrine law here, where you can defend your home.. however you cannot shoot someone in the back if they are trying to run away.... they are not a danger if trying to escape....EXERCISE GUN CONTRL! SHOOT STRAIGHT AND OFTEN.....

In many states,a person simply maiming an intruder could find themselves in a lawsuit especially if the incident happened in an area that has a high level of Liberals, you may find them awarding the intruder a large settlement which you will be responsible for.
If your in a situation that really requires such harsh action such as shooting them, make sure you do the job totally !

I have a real big issue with thugs breaking into the homes of law abiding citizens. People who are minding their own business - just trying to make a living and get a little joy out of life. When those thugs think they shouldn't have to work for what they get -- like I have to -- and that they should be able to break and enter into property that does not belong to them and just take whatever they want -- they have no right to expect that they won't be shot. I don't know if they are drugged up, I don't know what their intentions are - so I place myself and my safety above theirs.

A few things. It's not on MY conscience if they do, though I would rather not die. There is no evidence that they were trying to take my life. I would shoot to hurt and therefore stop them anyways. It's not so black and white as "kill or die, no middle ground" and I will find a middle ground rather than going against everything I believe in.

I agree, I'd rather be killed than a killer. I'm not saying that killing someone to save your own life would be wrong, only that I know I couldn't live with it on my conscience.

Make sure they kill you first so you won't have to see them killing other loved ones that may be on the scene. Then you can die happy. As for me, I'm not allowing any dirtbag to harm me or my loved ones !

I am shooting to center mass and I am shooting till they are dead. I don't want to be sued for injuring them. It won't take long, I have a Saiga 410 semi automatic shotgun with two 15 round magazines for home defense.
