Because they are human. And without God power corrupts. Without a moral foundation you stand for nothing and fall for anything.

Our Constitution give the federal government no power over health, education, or welfare, which were powers left to the individual states.

In order to crerate a large group of people dependent upon the federal government it had to assume powers not granted it, via our Constitution, and start using the money of their constituents on objects of benevolence, and ignoring the fact that our Constitution created a limited federal government with most of the every day governing power left to the individual states.

Congress illegally uses the welfare and commerce clauses to increase their power over the citizens and states.

James Madison, considered the father of our constitution, stated the following:

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace negotiations and foreign commerce.”

The operations of the federal government will be most extensive and important in times of war and danger; those of the State governments, in times of peace and security.”

“With respect to the words general welfare, I have always regarded then as qualified by the detail of powers connected with ...

The operations of the federal government will be most extensive and important in times of war and danger; those of the State governments, in times of peace and security.”

“With respect to the words general welfare, I have always regarded then as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators.”

“It is very certain that [the commerce clause] grew out of the abuse of the power by importing States in taxing the non-importing, and was intended as a negative and preventive provision against injustice among the States themselves, rather than as a power to be used for the positive purposes of the General Government.”

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on the article of the constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” James Madison criticizing an attempt to grant public monies for charitable means, 1794

“If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provisions of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, everything, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress… Were the power of Congress to be established in this latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very Nature of the limited Government established by the people of America.”

It would appear that Congress has created a large enough group of voters depenent upon the federal government to ensure their re-election, no matter how many times they ignor the Constitution, the very document they have taken an oath to support, just as long as they can promise free stuff from the federal treasury.

Correct it is our fault, but the politricians have been very sucessful in dividing the voters into two political parties, so that many people just vote for the party, no matter who the actual candidate is.

What we need to do is simply ignor party lines and vote for the candidate that will attempt to return the nation to its Constitutional roots.

The only problem with voting for the best candidate is that as long as the majority of voters vote party lines, it is very difficult to elect a third party candidate, and it is very clear that neither of the two major parties are interested in giving up the power they have stolen ove the years, and returning the federal government to its constitutional linited role.

Because our politicians have learned that they can not become rich on just the pay they receive as elected officials, and have discovered that there is much more money in being bought by special interest groups.

Also out politicians seek ultimate power, and that can not be accomplished by adhearing to our Constitution, so they just ignor it, hoping that the voters will either not notice, or not care if they get something for nothing.

Beyond that, beats me - EXCEPT too many "illeterate voters" and"freeloaders" want their "free sh!t". Plus Obama and crew are Communists at heart and want to destroy the USA~~!! Just my opinion.

No government is "based on truth and freedom." Our job as citizens is to keep the government in it's place, which "we" have not done for a long time.
