I would not allow you to, because there are way too many federal regs, to be aware of, fees and all kinds of stuff to be paid for; payroll to meet, labor department crap, all kinds of "safety" stuff, as well as CYA nonsense to deal with. It is just too complex a job for anybody, including me, but I've had decades of experience at it. There isn't ANY, and I do mean ANY amout of "training" that could prepare you for this job. Brain surgery would be easier to train for I'm sure, and root canals would sure as heck be more fun. Government bureaucracy isn't the least or the very worst of the problems and snafu scenarios to deal with, but sure adds to the difficulty, and you'd have to know your way around that.....which you could only know from experience. Nope. NO way would I allow it, but if you are offering, that is good of you, and I might wish it were even remotely possible. Thanks for the offer though, OTN! You are indeed a good girl.

Probably none and don't dare ask a question, you can get in trouble for that. They expect you to be a mind reading psychic who should already know everything there is to know about the job, even though the rules change everyday and you are not notified of it..you are just expected to know.

Now the question is which of my careers ..

for My Military Time .. you'd need UGrad/Grad Degrees .. Professional Military Education .. go through the Commissioning Process .. Being Licensed/Certified is a bonus .. work your way up through the ranks .. and yes, some post-graduate training and Continuing Education is also required ..
For my Civilian Careers .. License/Certificates .. Continuing Education .. and at least 10 years of actual experience as a Supervisor as well as in the field .. was necessary.

    NOW That I'm RETIRED ..
    hmm .. what can I say ..
pick up the tools with an innate ability to keep things maintained .. as well as a spark of creativity (and knowledge from my previous careers) is well used ..
and it doesn't help that I decided to take some College courses for fun ..
for I've found new interests in the Fine Arts ..
(the Juried Reviewers .. are incredulous .. that I'm Retired Military .. as well as now Blind .. )

Tax manager with over 20 years experience. The position requires a degree and at least 5 years experience in a multistate tax environment. An intuitive, hard working, intelligent person could walk in off the street and pick it up with some mentoring.

Ya don't need to know all the answers. You just need to know how to resolve them and/or where to find the answers.

LOL, Georgia. Multistate tax environments are a PART of my job as well. The EASY PART, I might add! hahaha! My hat is off to you too, because you have to deal with people whose problems require resolution, and who are probably anxious and nervous.

Well, it would greatly depend on which day of the month you decided to work. Some days of the month you could easily get away with doing a whole lot of nothing. Other days, you'd need to have enough training to be extremely fluent in Excel and database operations. Today was a heavy Excel day.

I don't use PowerPoint all that much, but I'm quite good at Excel. I have three wide screen monitors set side by side and a few of my spreadsheets are so huge that even with that many screens, I still can't see all my data.

Worse, Beck. Animal Training would be safer and easier. ANY kind of dealing with governmental bureaucracy requires more than a whip and a chair. You better have the diplomatic skills of a middle kid, the wisdom of Solomon, knowledge of economics,......among all the other skills required.
