If Adam & Eve were the first peeps, did they look like this?

Actually Genesis is a combination of two different stories. Adam and Eve where slaves of the Samaritans(whom worshiped a snake God at that time) and kept naked and illiterate. The text describes the law of the time regarding slaves. They worked in a Fig orchard and escaped to the south after it was discovered that eve had been trying to learn to read.. They were taken in by a tribe of people that we call the Israelite s. Whom viewed the Samaritans snake God to be evil. Satan didn't exists in Jewish religion yet.
They eventually told the two stories, Adam and Eve, and Adam and Lilith(probably two separate Adams or coincidence) in the same folklore by virtue of association.
Exodus, Genesis,Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are the only books in the Torah which says was dictated to Moses by God, and couldn't have existed before.(it time stamps itself by doing so) Others were introduced to the Bible by the counsel of Mica, who weren't Jewish, but were European's taking advantage of a young new Christian movement whom did not have a doctrine to live by at the time. Here the Torah was transformed into the bible.
If you study world religion you will also find that the story of Jesus was told verbatim about a Pharaoh by the Egyptians almost 8 thousand years before Jesus lived.
We also don't refer to periods of time longer than 24 hours as a day(e.i. Jurassic,Cambrian, Renaissance, December, 1978, the word millennium has been around for a long time(both the Romans and Jesus spoke Latin)
We also know very well through gene mapping that for a long time Pangaea became a desert continent almost euthanizing the planet. Human DNA dropped to six hundred or so humans, that lived on 2 coast lines and began to eat sea life(clams) for the first time in our development.
DNA mapping easily shows species relationships between life forms. You only share traits with ancestors before a species divides. 60% of lifes history on earth was spent as algae, so all life shares the first 60% of identical genes, small more recent changes in DNA cause a larger change in relative appearance(we're mostly made of the same stuff on the inside)
and life still is governed by the same laws that came into effect after sexual reproduction
began combining gene pools(don't marry your 1st cousin)

It's an interesting subject to discuss the first people as you find atheists are as bereft of education as theists are on the matter.

Point one to theists. Chapter One of Genesis speaks bout the creation of all things over a period of 7 days. Hate to burst your bubble but the word day doesn't mean a 24 hour period of time but generically, it means a period of time with a distinct beginning and end based on circumstances. We use the word in this way commonly all the time and never stop to think of the meaning. In my fathers day, in the day of the Roman Empire, in the day of the dinosaur... all vastly different periods of time and yet all are called "day". Then you have day in reference to the number of hours the sun is shining and a 24 hour period of time representing the passage of a day. Thus, the first day mentioned in Genesis could have lasted billions of years while the 6th day lasted only a few thousand and the 7th day could be the period we live in now having been turned over to us by God as God is now resting from all which he has created.

Simple hunh? The word day taken for what it means rather than a simpleminded view of a 24 hour period of time which Genesis Ch 1 never tells us it is saying.

But if you think Christians are stupid not understanding this... atheists are just as stupid because they attack Christians for believing in 7 days of creation but never address the meaning of the word day to educate people because they either don't know or they fear the revelation will make Genesis Ch 1 look more truthful and offer proof of God as how could ancient peoples know this? In fact, many have set Genesis Ch 1 down side by side with the theory of evolution and point out how the days vary and how Gen Ch 1 does seems to speak of vastly different time periods and evolution of species as they seem to change from day to day just as they evolve day by day in the theory of evolution.

In the story of Adam, most miss one simple fact... if Adam was the first man then why didn't God create Eve with him? Some say he created Lilith but Lilith is never mentioned until an 8th century religious man invents her as Adams first wife in a play called the Alphabet of Ben Sira. Lilith was never mentioned as Adams first wife nor was she.

Adam was created alone meaning God had a different reason for creating him. The Bible speaks of Adam in a way almost any intellectual or scientist would understand... he was created alone in an isolated location for the purpose of experimentation and testing him. The bible itself gives us the answer by speaking of how he was created to dwell within the garden of Eden... but then tells us when they are removed from the garden that they are still in Eden itself but outside of the garden oasis, Eden is a land of thorn.

Eve was created from Adams rib which no one understands... an intellectual or scientist would understand because Eve was created from Adam so that she was still part of him no different than any other part of his body. This is why she could eat the forbidden fruit without being cursed as Adam was not cursed to crush it or even bath in it's juices, he was forbidden to eat of the fruit itself to gain knowledge the easy way where you do not learn self discipline... kind of like the scientists of today acting like Frankenstein saying if it can be done then they must try to do it.

We learn from Gen Ch 2 that Cain slays his brother Abel and is banished to the land of Nod where there already exists people but nowhere in Gen Ch 2 does it speak of others or the land of Nod until this point. Christian leaders say these must be other children of Adam and Eve albeit the Bible never mentions then if we accept this... it's only speculation with no foundation for truth. In fact, the only ones who would have reason to harm him lived in Eden and yet, Cain doesn't fear them at all. A mark was placed upon Cain which no one has ever come up with an answer to say what it was. Yet, there is a common saying among people ancient and modern which says that blindness is a mark... the mark of blindness. Where was the mark placed on Cain? On his forehead and the eyes are often said to be part of the forehead. When he arrives in the land of Nod, none harm him because of the mark. One doesn't need to have a godly answer for this as most ancient peoples believed that blind people either possessed a companion spirit or a third eye... harm them and the spirit would avenge the blind person or the evil eye would be left to harm all. Thus, from what science teaches us about ancient or primitive peoples... we have our answer what the mark was and why he wasn't harmed because of it.

Cain is said to have been cursed as a thief and a vagabond by God and yet he builds a city for his son... a contradiction because a thief and a vagabond cannot do such a thing. However, it is an appropriate description for a conqueror who makes an empire taking from others and his armies are always on the move living off the land like a vagabond.

Chapter One of Genesis thus speaks truly because male and female created he them and it is these peoples who preceded Adam that Ch 1 mentions and which peopled the land of Nod. The Bible doesn't tell us this bluntly as like any story teller, it expects the listener to understand what is being said by reading between the lines which most people do... a common understanding where elements of the story may not exist but which the listener or reader already knows and understands.

Atheists like to attack theists with hatred and ignorance of their own as rather than attacking theists from logic and common sense, they place their blind faith in what they are told by science and atheist scientists telling them that this theory or that disproves religion when it actually does not.

In fact, scientists and archaeologists using the bible are finding people, places and events mentioned in the Bible actually did exist. In many cases, the Bible is the only place where these are even mentioned because the entire world forgot they existed.

In that context, the Bible is a book of knowledge.

It is in taking the Bible to be a literal truth that theists make mistakes and not knowing the history of their faith.

From the beginning of the Bible being put together, the people who put it together edited out entire books and revised the ones it kept. Through mistranslations, things became even further removed until it reached a point where priests could not even read the Bible because they couldn't read Old Latin or they couldn't understand it because to edit the bible required changing each Bible by hand and it was done by people who couldn't read Old Latin either. For over a thousand years, it was a capital crime for any commoner to possess a copy of the Bible and they were burned alive at the stake no different than witches. This is where most of our traditional beliefs come from... they come from people who couldn't read nor understand the Bible and thus, traditional beliefs are mostly based in ignorance.

Atheists are correct about the Bible being a faerie tale in this regard... but prove just as ignorant not knowing that the Bible is only a book telling us about the people and events of peoples from the past not meant to be a book of gods word... but those of the peoples who believed in him.

Simple question... if these were the words given to men by God or written under his inspiration, then why change it? Even now, new versions of the Bible are being created to edit it to say what men what it to say. Likewise, no two preachers believe the same things about the Bible... they all disagree about something yet all claim God tells them what they preach to us????

The only "God" the Bible mentions who tells every individual what they want to hear is the God of this world... Lucifer. He whispered into the ears of angels telling each what they needed to hear that would lead them to support him when he went against God and led a third of Heavens angels into damnation.

As an Agnostic Theist / Christian, I do not accept traditional beliefs and can accept what the Bible says based on knowledge and intellect... unlike atheists who condemn and ridicule it as a book of faerie tales.

Any intellectual will tell you there is truth in almost all such books. They have found troy and many other places proving Greek religious faith accepted as myths possessed countless truths... the same can be said for all myths and legends.

Was there a King Arthur... according to scientists, historians and archaeologists... yes there was. While it is more difficult to say who Arthur was, there are several men history provides us who could have been Arthur and one of them was or rather, all of them may have been known to ancient historians who knew of all of them and created Arthur based on them. Monsters known to the ancients we now know were nothing more than fossils of creatures long dead that ancient writers used as a basis to explain how these creatures met their fate or what they were.

The truth is that theists have a right to believe what they want as long as they do not try to force their beliefs down our throats or force us to claim we believe what they do to prevent wrongs being perpetrated upon us for not believing.

In this, atheists are no different because they cause harm to people of religious faith through their attacks no different than what they claim of theists.

When they trade Bibles for porn, how is that different than when theists burn books or destroy them? There are millions of copies of the Koran out there yet when a Christian burns one, atheists immediately hop on the bandwagon to attack Christians for no other reason than to take a side where they perceive Muslims as an ally to exploit against Christians. This is also why many Liberals who preach such hatred for Christians take the side of Muslims here in the US when most Muslims in the US are even more rightwing than Christians and have even greater hatred and desire to do harm to the political left and it's beliefs... you don'y take the side of an enemy against another enemy unless it is the lesser of two evils. In this sense, Liberals defending Islam and Muslims are taking the side of the devil against the anti Christ because they perceive one as a better option to the other where alliances come to be.

So why did God create Adam and Eve? What did they look like?

God created Adam as the first word bringer, a person he made perfect because unlike the rest of humanity who were evolved from lesser beings, Adam was made to look like them only outwardly. Adam was perfect in his creation and perfectly innocent of all wrong. He was created to walk alone with God so that God might teach him. God had created the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life for which Adam had no desire for either. But humans are a species which does not like to live alone and in his loneliness, God created animals which if you read... are all domestic animals which we can keep as pets. But this wasn't enough and you can read that it seems God is becoming dissatisfied with Adam and believing he was about to fail, created Eve. When he ate of the Tree of Knowledge, he gained knowledge he had not learned the hard way where he could understand what he was learning... kinda like giving your child four years of college education where they remember what they learned, but they possess no understanding of any of it.

Flaca, if you want knowledge, then read and learn... don't post topics on Sodahead asking for peoples opinions as all you will get are atheists attacking Christians and Christians on the defensive retaliating against these attacks... or attacking first expecting the attacks they experience all the time.

If you want answers about God or the Bible... it's people like myself who can provide them because I do not support traditional beliefs... and I do not accept hatred for theists by atheists.

An atheist is a person who does not believe in god or gods.

In this regard, Darwin is looked upon by atheists as proof of their beliefs while theists perceive him as evil or wrong for the same reason. Darwin had been a Christian at one time and even if people want to say he became an agnostic or atheist... his wife and children were Christians and Darwin respected them.

You hear atheists always trying to claim the Founding Fathers were atheists or deists... deism is simply another word for theism. Thomas Jefferson is said to have both hated and loved Christians... he speaks at various times in favor of both views based on the moment. He was both supportive and against Christians. How could he be both? Then, as now, you had extremist elements and mainstream... Jefferson attacked Christian extremists but voiced support for mainstream Christianity. It's just that simple but atheists and theists both want to use Jefferson to promote their views claiming he supported the same things they do. In the same way, even most Christians do not like Jehovah's Witnesses because they view them as extremists in the same way Jefferson viewed extremist Christians in his day... and Jefferson was just as Christian as most Christians are today.

I know you don't like long posts flaca but it seems you are on a religious quest of some kind of late and you seem to be attacking more than asking questions seeking answers... in other words, to provoke rather than seek truth.

The truth is that nothing in the Bible should be accepted as anything more than a book of knowledge about a peoples and their beliefs. It can be accepted as a foundation of faith no different than atheists believing in science... it takes faith and belief to accept that science is now telling us about distant planets and what they are made of just as it takes faith to believe in Global Warming when facts tell us what we're being told isn't true. If you believe in Global Warming then we in the US should have just experienced our coldest Winter ever and we are about to go through the warmest Summer when to date, we're getting ample rain like weather patterns from decades ago gave us in the Spring. In fact, most scientists who have been promoting Global Warming are now backing away or even turning against the theory admitting that the science is wrong and that Global Warming is nothing more than a continuing warm period following the Little Ice Age which man made pollution from 1940 through 1975 actually caused to halt... some even admit now that environmentalism reducing the amount of man made pollution reduced it caused global climates to start warming up again... and that now, increasing pollution from developing nations like China are causing climates to return to a more moderate level or maybe even reversing warming trends to a cooling trend.

You just cannot blindly put your faith into any belief system without being exploited flaca... whether it be science or religion, if there's a buck to be made, there will always be a false prophet their to steal it from you.
