When I was high school, they wouldn't have confiscated my phone anyways. I got away with most things. But if I had my iPhone while I was still in high school, and somehow, they wanted to confiscate it, I would remove the sim card and lock my phone before handing it over.

First, I wouldn't be so disrespectful/rude to my teacher or my classmates by leaving my cellphone on (much less using it) in class.

Second, if s/he tried to take my property s/he had BEST come prepared for an ass whuppin.' Teachers of America, do not assume that because the State gives you some kind of authority over the snot pumpers that you have the right to confiscate other people's property. This is an EXCELLENT way to test your health 'care' plan.

People who use their phones when they are supposed to be doing something else (like paying attention in class, or helping customers or coworkers at their job) frustrate me to no end. I think its rude and assumes that your "conversation" is more important than anyone else.

Oh heaven's just let her have it. I'll get it back and if i wasn't suppose to have it out that's the consequences. I seen girls kick & scream for their phones back, and there would be 2 minutes of class left.

Actually, why would you have a cell phone in a classroom? The teacher is well within her right to take your phone while in her classroom. Through out life, there will be procedures and policies to follow regarding school and work, always someone to answer to, as you grow and learn you'll find that there is a core of values that you should be well informed of. Plus you have to give the teacher her or his props (respect).

Only teacher to take my phone are males. I give it to them, then raise my hand and say "Could I please have my phone back. I was just making sure it was on vibrate, that's why I had it out". Then I get it back :)

I've gotten my phone taken once in 7th grade because I forgot to turn it on silent and it went off, and I just gave it up without a word. But because I was his favorite student, he just gave it back at the end of class. You're not supposed to have your phone in class anyway, so if you get caught, don't be pissed.

I never get caught because I keep it off. It's a detention if you are caught in my school and you need to pay five bucks to get it back...
