I John Cena over-rated and too soft?

I wouldn't say he's the reason for the PG travesty, but he's a big part of it. Randy Orton is the best they've got right now.

Well he's my favorite superstar in the WWE right now. But I don't really watch anymore because it has got boring. I don't mind the fact that Cena is a face, but there's just nothing that he can do that is really new. He's already fueded with every big name in the business (Triple H, Orton, Michaels, Edge, Jerhico, etc.) so what more can he do that makes people go "Wow, now this is interesting"? And since he's a favorite of all the children it's hard to put him secondary to anyone because he'll be pushed to the front anyway because younger fans don't really understand the business, they just want their favorite guy to win. I was the same way with The Rock when I was young. Even if he wasn't in the title picture he was all I cared about. So yeah, he is kind of boring now, but I don't think he's overrated or soft.

Yeah I like him there as a cocky heel... maybe after the NXT things gets over a bit (which I'm hoping is soon) they can turn Cena heel and Jerico into a face for a while...

they think he needs a major character change or needs to turn heel. but the guy doesnt deserve the hate. i used to hate him. alot. but tis childish and stupid. the guy works really hard for this company, and he doesnt suck as much as people say he does. he can cut a great promo aside from the stupid jokes he tells. and he can wrestle. wwe just limtis him like crazy and makes him seem like Superman every match. what i dont like is that he hogs the spotlight. hes not even in the title picture anymore and he is stil more important with this Nexus thing. the WWE Championship should be top priority and not Cena vs. Nexus.

WWE needs to screw the PG crap and take chances with Cena.

It's scripted... it's not real competing... the impact on their body is real but it's like a play. It's not like the UFC or NCAA Wrestling or Olympics wrestling which is completely real and real guys competing.

I like Cena a lot... but he needs to not be the main focus for a little while... maybe be the 2nd or 3rd focus to give fans a bit of a break from always hearing about him...

I don't think all the focus should be all on one guy... yet everything has totally been almost solely about cena... how about following the top belt while it's on someone else?

TNA is getting better with Sting returing and mcmg vs beer money best of 5 match are awsome and WWE is get boring as heck

I was never really a fan of those pudding, pool and etc matches... I'd rather see a normal good match done well.

It's not as exciting as it used to be..the PG rating just holds them back to much and WWE is taking it to far. I bet the kids want to see blood, action and swearing.

Some probably do want to see that..... and WWE should be a bit more violent... The most violent thing has to be the Nexus

I agree I'm tired of Cena being the focus point... heck he's not the champ no more and he's still the stupid focus... they seriously need to focus on someone other than Cena for a while....

John Cena is one of the hardest workers in the business, according to Paul Heyman. So I figure Cena is just taking advantage of every opportunity his company offers him. I can't blame him because I would want to do the exact same thing in his shoes. The people to blame for Cena's increasingly stale character, PG gimmick, and superman persona is the WWE. WWE has always let politics interfere with the quality of their entertainment.

Why would WWE let politics and the government control them? Before, WWE had the "I don't give a *&^% attitude."

Well Linda McMahon is running for Senate, so they're trying to keep it extra clean until after the vote or until after she gets out of politics. Which could be a couple of months to a couple of decades. I'm kind of hoping things get back to normal...

Hopefully when it's over, they go badass once again.

yeah but who knows when or if she'll get out of politics... I think I've heard she's put over 10.5 million into ads and other media already... that's a lot of money to leave even if she loses, she may give it another shot later.

Actually the WWE was extremely nationalistic on its shows right after the September 11th attacks and has always been pro military. They are not the only company to bow to political influence as they are pandering to their fan base like so many others. The question is whether this is right or not. Frankly, I have been so disgusted with the WWE's political pandering in the past that I have stopped watching it. I want the show to be about entertainment, not about supporting the Republican (or other) parties.
