Gargle with salt water. Not fun, but it works. Get yourself a Neti pot and use it twice a day. Also not fun, but it definitely works. Take lemon juice and honey if you're coughing. And hot steamy showers always seem to make me feel better.

Drink a hot lemon drink. That will provide some comfort but I'm afraid in general colds just go eventually. There's not a lot you can do.

What I do is I make some strong colloidal silver and put it in a nasal spray container. Then I use it like Dristan, only I dose myself often, at least every hour. I try to really saturate my sinuses, this can be a little uncomfortable. I also gargle with colloidal silver to help with the sore throat. The cold is normally on it's way out the next day, but I continue with the treatment until the cold is gone.

I find it's best to start treatment when the first cold symptoms appear so as not to let the virus get a foothold. I got a little complacent last time and the cold got a bit of a head start on me, but the treatment knocked it out fast.

What is colloidal silver? I have never heard of it? Do you find it at the health food store? Please tell me more.

You need two pieces of pure silver, a 30 volt power supply (three 9 volt batteries wired in series works) and some water. Use alligator clips to suspend the silver pieces in water, with positive hooked to one and negative hooked to the other. I usually let it run for about an hour to produce a noticeably 'silvery' solution. The silver pieces last practically forever.

If you want to accurately know how much silver is in the water, you will need a dissolved solids meter.

This looks like the way you rhodium platinum? Very interesting. But how safe is this? Aren't you taking in some high heavy metal content?

Silver is a deadly toxin - to any virus or single celled organism. It is harmless to multi-celled organisms like us. It IS possible to take too much silver, but it takes a very large amount (drinking several glasses daily for years) and the result is a permanent bluish stain to the skin. Spot treatment of colds using it as a nasal spray is quite safe. Adding small amounts to food keeps it from spoiling for a surprisingly long time. It's a great technique for preventing food borne illness when home canning. Back in the days before refrigeration, it was common for people to put a silver coin in milk to prevent spoilage.

Heavy metal contamination is a relatively common problem, what with mercury fillings and all. Believe it or not, eating fresh cilantro will allow you to pee out heavy metals. A full flush takes about 8 days of daily cilantro consumption.

Thank you for all the interesting info. I don't know that I would be brave enough to try it, but it's worth researching.

I believe silver is a much safer approach than vaccines. I believe vaccines are genuinely dangerous.

Well I'm glad you have find something that works for you. I'm old enough to have known kids who had and died of things like polio. So sorry I can't feel that way about vaccines.

It's a cost/benefit thing. Serious diseases like polio may warrant vaccination, but things like the flu are better dealt with using less risky methods, in my opinion.

Drink loads of water, I am not sure if you have Lemsip over there, I am sure you do but they are sachets of powder you mix with hot water. Kind of a hot lemon drink but it has pain killers in it and also if you have a blocked nose, a nasal spray, like Sinex is really good. Don't forget to drink water and try and sleep then you are not awake feeling terrible.
