I find it very sad that some people think they have found true love on Sodahead. And then in a couple of weeks they find another true love here on Sodahead. How many times are they willing to go through all that?

This poll is not meant to chastise or accuse anyone, just a note of caution, but if it keeps just one person from heartbreak, then it's well worth it.

Are people that desperate or that lonely or do they truly believe it? Why are they willing to let themselves be hurt over and over again? Care to comment?

Internet true love does not exists. Fantasies exists. One never knows what's behind the screen. As far as anyone knows I am a sexy redheaded that lives in a pretty Pink square. For anyone to think coming here on SH to find true love... well it just wont happen.

    I don't find it "sad."

Anyone who participates on a website like this usually goes into it knowing that a good chunk of what most people post is just 'wishful thinking.'

I think that the internet can be a good venue for meeting new people whom one would otherwise never encounter, and that's awesome.

At the same time, I realize that REAL love takes a lot of work, time, energy communication and compromise.

All that can't be accomplished via mere fiber-optic cables, IMO.

Face to face interaction is an irreplaceable necessity for forming real, long lasting bonds with another person.

My sentiments exactly. But some people believe all the fantasy and end up getting hurt, just saying. And that's sad to me.

.............If this happens, it wasn't true love in the first place, impulsive love, can very well be controlling, and I'm sure sensible Soda Heads, will steer themselves away from relationships that early development in Soda Head.......this website, I believe can be highly addictive, if a person doesn't take a break from it, once in a while, I even have been caught up in this online addiction.......hopefully by talking with my Select Soda Head Friends, I can maintain a healthier approach, to Friendship First, and a longer term, Possible Relationship Mutually Shared........I pray that my Friends realize, that once in awhile I need Friendly redirection, when I start looking for a relationship, I, above all else, do not want to jeopardize my existing Friendships, with my Select, Online, Family.........

Good question! I now only of two people on SodaHead that found real love. There might be more? I agree though it's not likely to be found here. I have noticed in general as far as the internet in general there are more lonely folks in the world than I imagined and that some get to excited at what some extra attention might bring.

I think you're right. They are so desperate for attention that they fool themselves into thinking they have found true love. I find that very sad.

It is sad and somehow for those prone to that kind of loneliness the internet much of the time makes it worse for them.

Of course the potential always exists for "True Love" to happen almost anywhere. But the odds here? Low! On the rare occasions it would happen? Well lucky them!

Odds are very low. Once they meet up it would probably be a disaster.

Lol....Ah Huh! A few years ago I did a few online meet @ Starbucks "dates". Let's just say it was my realization that many see some sort of veil from the internet. Am I recommending "online dating" these days? Nope..... ;-)

And I know you and I don't always see things the same way and I'm ok with that. Lol....on this I think we more than agree.... ;-)

We do disagree on some things, and I think that's great. We all have a right to our opinions on everything.

But we definitely agree on this one. Thanks.

If people would get off the internet for extended periods of time and actually get out in the real world, they might find true love, but the likelihood of that happening on line is extremely remote.

I agree. Get out in the real world and find a real person. Maybe they are scared to, and this is how they fool themselves into believing they've found true love. These are just words on a computer screen.

It truly never ceases to astonish me that so many apparently sensible people can manage to convince themselves that they 'are madly in love' with somebody- often on the very flimsiest of acquaintanceships with an individual- who they often know virtually nothing about...!
