Can you remember these tanks? If someone his your car their car would be destroyed while your remained in tact! Typically of Chrysler Corporation, there was a hole worn in the floor behind the gas pedal. So you tried to avoid puddles.

I got my license is a 1967 diesel Mercedes. It had a glow plug. Took me a few minutes just to start the car. I thought I was going to fail the test for taking so long.

I learned to drive on the hand-me down from a Aunt ..
(she was crippled by Arthritis .. could no longer drive .. so I purchased the vehicle from her)

    1958 Pontiac Bonneville convertible

(yep .. she had a Ragtop)

Go across a Bridge .. and that top would inflate like a Balloon!
(that was a tank as well .. HUGE TRUNK .. absolutely HUGE!)

Please! I'm old enough to remember them. I think my dad had a DeSoto that he bought used sometime in the mid 60's. I don't know what year it was but it had running boards, I remember riding on them when he was driving through a field. He was always buying different cars to mess around in. I remember having a VW bug way back in the early 60's in New York. We always had Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles when I was growing up.

Mom had a '53 and '54. I had a '56 Chrysler Saratoga and a '56 Dodge wagon. Loved them all.

For years you could not know which way the car was headed. Studebaker was unique. They also made tough military trucks.
