I do estimates almost every day(flooring contractor).So I get allot of practice.I do use pen and paper sometimes,when I get allot of square footage.

On a calculator but it makes you head lazy. I used to be able to do all sorts of calculations in my head until I started using a calculator.

Me too. I used to work in a bar and we had to add all the tabs in our heads. Then the management brought in tills that did the calulation for us. It's almost like a muscle, if you dont use it, it gets flabby.
