Usually, once I know I am done with someone, that is IT. I can forgive someone and not associate with them any further. By my principles, choosing not to seek retribution is forgiveness enough.

Time will tell. You can forgive them without subjecting yourself to their rudeness again. Although I very rarely block people, it is my experience here that people who are rude and hateful are always rude and hateful. I don't unblock people I have blocked. You will probably end up blocking them again.

I just don't think blocking is a good thing. I was just blocked this morning by some right wing nut job named Daniel. He is spreading fear and hatred by claiming Communists and Socialists have gotten into the government and are destroying this country. He blocked me because I didn't share his opinion. So let's preach about being a patriot and an American by stopping free speech. Makes sense to me. If you don't like someone, ignore them and their posts. But stopping the free flow of ideas, no matter how stupid or horrible they may be, just doesn't seem right.

I got blocked for abuse by Art, I am at a complete loss as I made it clear I was addressing anyone who would vote for Romney. Since that seems to be the majority here you have thought that others would have blocked me as well. He took it extremely personally. I said.. "How does Romney's butt smell because anyone who would vote for him has their nose so far up there that they can't see the truth." I have read where people have called Dems libertards, idiots and the like here, They have called the Prez all kinds of things and do not give a damn how offensive it is yet, a snide comment by me is abuse. Yes I despise Romney and feel sorry for the people who defend him. So WHAT? We are all passionate about our issue. We don't have to get nutty, but if we were not so passionate about our issues then why bother posting? I will not block anyone because if I did I might as well delete my account. It defeats the purpose of Sodahead.

I take abuse every single day on just about every topic I post on because of my liberal views. I will tell you what, if this is what it is like working in Washington with the stubborn Republicans, you couldn't pay me enough to go there and try to fight that. I have seen Art before, I am not sure if he has blocked me or not. But Daniel didn't want to have any part of any discussion with anyone who wasn't walking lock step with his Communist/Socialist agenda. As a Democratic Socialist, I just can't relate to his hate of opposing views.

I did one about blocking months ago. I think it got blocked too...

I just got blocked by David K. Why? I don't really know. He was telling me I was a socialist dependent on the government and what a success he was. I asked him if he went to a state school using Pell Grants and student loans or if his mom and dad paid for everything and then set him up in his family business and now he blocked me. Amazing what makes these people block you. If I get tired of someone, I just stop responding. Blocked again by another conservative... that makes about 10 now.
