How would you explain this to a child?

If you were walking in the mall, or in a store, and your child saw a stranger with this on their shirt what would you say? Would you try to ignore the questions? My daughter is at the age where she can read, and she reads EVERYTHING she sees around her. While I personally think it's mildly amusing, I recognize the fact that it would be very difficult to try to explain to a child or preteen. What do you think? graphic tee

I seen a young guy in Walmarts with F U in big letters on his shirt.He should have been thrown out.Decent people and children don't want to see that.

You are right; however, as my son told me when he was 17, was that Freedom Of Speech does not mean Freedom of Consequence. There will never be restrictions on such things. Doesn't mean it's appropriate either.

It's got alot to do with what age of the child also. It's just trashy. It tells me if someone to wear that has no respect for themself much less anyone else.

I wouldn't acknowledge it. If you don't notice it, the kid probably wouldn't either. If they did ask, they're probably old enough to have the oral sex conversation and why it's tacky to talk about it in public.

Its all part of freedom and expression. On that note, i dont like it but that just means i wont wear it . Honestly if my young child asked me what it was, id prolly say something along the lines of " Well, big people have big people games and they are playing a grown up game and its supposed to be funny" and i know the question would come up "what game ? " and ide probably choke and laugh , and say "wrestleing" or some other rediculous thing, and pray that it soothed the curiousity until a later date.

You could say that "It is supposed to be adult humor but that it isn't very adult nor is it humorous. You'll understand better when you are an adult."

I know my girls are accepting of the reason that something is for adults and not children.

Adults should use more discretion than to wear something like that to a place where children can be present.Tough spot for you Sweetie as a parent.she's too young to really explain that- more so that it's meant to be funny..

:-\ because she is 7, because I am divorced and I would be furious if she heard it at this age from her father. Because if i were to explain it to her at this age, she may be more likely to agree to experiment with other kids sooner rather than later. I'm all for explaining the stuff to kids before they learn it thru experience but 7 is too young.
