You!
We all know this stuff:
1=I
5=V
10=X

But do you know more?
If so, give the numeric values of these numbers:

28
119
202
345
1234
ROMAN GENIUS: 4,598

Just like the majority of us: You know the important numbers, which are 1-10.

• Witness RachelA7X 2012/07/20 19:48:01
I think we were all supposed to learn it in the 3rd-5th grades.

Emperor Nero said, "NO counting!"
At least when it got to the more difficult numbers
• Witness ben 2012/07/20 19:48:29
I used to stop at 30. I got better in one day.
That was so way 3rd grade ago!
I need to know them to write and outline?
Yes, but most outlines don't require numbers above X, or 10.

That was so way 3rd grade ago!
I know some of them. We don't use them much, you know.
• Witness geegee 2012/07/20 05:19:51
Most people don't. We don't have to, unless we create textbooks.

Emperor Nero said, "NO counting!"
There's a reason we developed 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instead of i, ii, iii, iv, v
LESS CONFUSING
• Witness C4TSMILEY 2012/07/20 02:49:07
Our numeric system was primarily copied from the people we hate: Arabs!
The system we use is called the Hindu-Arabic numeric system.
I DO NO HATE ARABS.

Well, there's a little piece of information I didn't know.

You will notice that there is no zero in Roman Numerals.
The computer you are playing with right now requires a binary number system of one's zero's
The Roman's could never have invented a binary computer.
• Witness Ron in ... 2012/07/20 03:27:00
True. Isn't awkward that the Mayans conceived the zero and the Romans didn't?
Are you some sort of engineer or just a thinker and computer guru?
• reaper Witness 2012/07/20 03:54:52
some people give other past cultures a lot less credit then they deserve and ended up taking it themselves.

Nope.
But I did go to a school where the teacher who taught math and science was the first woman to pass the bar exam west of the Mississippi.I was also picked to be an intrapreneur ( an entrepreneur within corporate confines).
The diploma is printed on same quality of paper used for Olympic Awards.
You sure got me tooting my horn:))))).

I don't mind. It is not bad unless the receiver of the info is jealous or daunted.

Well played, mate. Don't you just love ancient numeric systems, especially the one conceived by the Romans?

Some people ignore the rule that states that a number cannot be repeated thrice.

Your way is more attractive than this:
MMMMDXCVIII.

When did you learn?
