6 , dad tossed us over the edge of the boat and said sink or swim . i'm swam -- or at least struggled real well to stay afloat . back in those days no one told our parents how to raise us like they do now . hell he'd go to jail for that now !

Around 10-15 years ago.

I was a real daddy's girl when I was little, so I didn't even WANT to learn how to swim; I'd much rather have an excuse to hold onto my dad's shoulders all the time. He couldn't really say "no". But one day he got tired of it and suddenly threw me into deep water. I immediately started shouting out that I was sinking, and didn't notice that I was swimming perfectly fine until he pointed it out to me. Mum was real mad at him when she found out what he'd done :P

Five. But I put my son in a class at 3. My parents had a swimming pool by the time he was born, Just couldn't see not giving him a fighting chance if he got out of sight as children are often prone to do.

Well I can swim but not verry well but I briefly learned at the age of five my mom was in my cousins pool so she asked me to jump in so I did
