I can't remember NOT being able to ride a bike ,i think about 3 or 4 . I used to build bikes from spare parts when i was a kid. I think i had about 15 of them at one point!
9, I was a bit slower picking up on things, my sister rode at 6. Since then , spent 3 decades riding motorcycles (often in horrid weather, once in hurricane conditions). Owned 4, never had a car.
......i first tried to ride a bike when i was 5 which led to me rolling down a hill and fall on a rock face first, but luckily my body broke my brothers fall!! :)....then years later when i was 13 i rode it just fine and now i ride it almost everyday...but i dont remember ever actually learning...i just rode.....idk
I was 6. A red bike. My Dad would hold the back and push and let go, and I'd eventually fall down. It was in the dirt somewhere. We did it every Saturday for an hour until one Saturday when he let go I kept going, until I took out a shrubbery patch. Then I was good.
Can't remember except my parents couldn't get me to ride, I'd keep falling, they would get frustrated. A good neighbor of ours came by one day when I was struggling along and came over...whispered something to me and off I went...no fuss, no muss. For the life of me I don't remember what he said.
I do know that they didn't have training wheels on the bikes
Picked up my bike and tried again after I figured out where the brakes were.
Funny thing was I was driving a tractor around the fields at at 5yo and that was easier.
