How often do you come across a liar on the internet??...

I'm one of those people who READS what people write - and analyzes it throughly. It's so easy to see through the b.s. once you learn how to. I blast those people all the time - and get "blocked" here for it all the time. Idiots really think that's going to solve their problems? Yea, right. Tells me instantly I was right.

About as often as I do in real life. Most people are liars. Trust but verify. Either that, study so much that you already know the answers.

i don't know, i'm not very social on the internet, i'm more a face to face person, so i don't realy get to know people on the internet

Trust but verify. There are a lot of people here whose veracity is less than....a politicians.

I tend to want to agree with you, But, in actuality, many of them are basically honest, just duped by a Philosophy that has not been practiced by the GOP for years!

Well, a person is who he / she is according to what they let into their being.

I have no idea. I take comments and profiles at face value since they have no real bearing on my life. If I ever need the truth from someone they can agree to a video chat or say 'bye. Yeah, they could use a stand in but you can tell quite a bit by looking in someone's eyes. A stand in would be tough to pull off.

Its so difficult to know if someone is a liar or not.I'm sure I have come across them but I can't say i have noticed to be perfectly honest...

quite often, the amount of scam emils that I still receive from looking out for work, jobs that state that I could earn £XXX a day, then I look into it, there's no interview, no company address, & they want £XXX to become a member & find out more information, or I could be a millionaire within a year, just contribute £XXXX to make sure that I can keep a site on the net, well if I'm looking out for work, then it's obvious I don't have £XXX or £XXXX to spare let alone to people who don't even exist.
Another fatal move is when applying for a job or something alike to that, fill in the form, put down that I'm single, now I get advertising from dating agencies, even emails from women from Ghana wanting me to be their partner, telling me that they love me, if they saw me in real life, they'd hate me!! Then they bombard me with emails which I never respond to, some even want money on the first email, I read them only if I think the name is someone that I know, apart from that I delete them.
Then there's the Canadian Pharmacy that can get me some Viagra for a tenth of the going rate, gambling agencies that guarantee me to earn £XXXX on the £XXX that they want me to outlay........ I love internet scammers, they must think that all members of the public are stupid

the question should probably be ( how often do you come across an Honest person on the internet the answer would be much easier

I can't validate any untruths attached to any individual for sure, but my spidey senses are always tingling. And those senses are saying that fibs on the internet are bigger and occur more often then when face to face.

That's exactly it. You can never be sure. People can keep up a facade easily on the internet so it's very difficult to detect:)

As long as I am not affected or anyone in my family, I see no reason to sweat the small stuff, or to be concerned about whether they are lieing or telling the truth.

easy, open your eyes and catch them in contradicting statements.
After all, this IS cyberville a place where people can be who they want, (not necessarily who they are)

What others say is not that important for me to try and catch them in a lie. I'm strictly on here for pleasant conversation and opinion making.

However, I find that even though the people may be lying about their selves, they're showing more truth than anyone will likely ever see
