Some went overboard with shopping on Black Friday. Did you get all your holiday shopping out of the way on the hectic day -- or did you stay as far away from the mall as possible?

I did my full 2 weeks of grocery shopping! While all the crazies were stampeding over people for a cheap TV, I hit my local grocery store (empty!!!!) and could actually move through the aisles at my own leisurely pace.

I didn't get my Christmas shopping done but I did go out at midnight to get myself a laptop for college. After 30 minutes in my local Walmart both my husband and I were happy to leave the craziness of Black Friday.

If it's cheap, i'm spending. I wouldn't even care if the holiday was Osama Bin Laden's Day. A sale is a sale.

I have a philosophy on Black Friday: why waste time, planning, family time, and get into a bunch of fights just to get something that was most likely marked up then marked back down for one day? I rather pay that regular price than go through all the lines and stuff. Atleast I'll be in and out hassle free. Some people even become very greedy. I have a friend that works at a craft store and on black friday a ring her boyfriend gave her fell into a bag and she realized it and so did the customer so they ran out as soon as she asked for it.

Where would you go shopping that you have to fight someone?
  • Alexis<3 Gohmert... 2012/11/29 04:42:01
I've heard it from people that shopped at Walmart this past Black Friday.

I tried not to go into ANY stores--unfortunately, I had to work that evening at 7 p.m., while there were still plenty of customers in the store.

Still need to purchase the components of Christmas dinner, I don't do gifts.

I don't shop on Black Friday. I hate crowds and further into December there will be better deals.

Shopping is not a sport and the idea of "Black Friday" is just stupidity!

    Absolutely none.
Very few places here in Canada have sales for Black Friday.
What's the point of celebrating the things you're thankful for one day, and then trampling each other to buy more material items the next day? American logic makes no sense.

I made the mistake of going to the second largest mall in the city anyways, though. Got lost, too. And where did I end up? BAM right in between a stampede of angry, impatient citizens about to dash forward and and an Apple store.

bLOODY HELL is really all I'm going to say about that. I'm not only an innocent bystander; but a survivor. The war was long, cold and tough, but I made it out alone.

No but seriously I don't think I've ever gotten out of a place quicker than that. I really don't ever want to go back there again.

I dont shop on black Friday nor the rest of that weekend. The attitude of shoppers during that event repulses me and ruins my holiday spirit.

No. I don't buy Christmas gifts at all. I just wondered who you were accusing. You seem VERY angry with someone. You're just too much of a coward to say who.

Think what you must to justify your own reaction to my comments, as well as your rage over an activity you needn't participate in. And I don't celebrate Christmas. Every day is a celebration for me.

yeah but some people wait almost all year for this day to get a few big thing (maybe a new TV to replace the failing one they have)
I juts wanted to get a new external harddrive (they been pretty expensive since the Thailand floods) since they where around 40% less than on every other day, but alas they sold out in minutes after the sales began....
and i do think that most of the holidays have been downgraded to simply gimmicks to get peoples money... sadly we most of the time got with the companies

The stores did not have any great deals, and I only got a portion done. We stopped the insanity, and are only giving to the grandchildren this year, and we are going to not stress out. A lot of decorations are not going up either. Just too much to do.

Got almost everything I needed and did not have to step foot inside a store. All done from right behind my desk. Free shipping and loads of discounts.
