I worked on my last job for over 20 years before having to give it up and take my Disability. I worked in the Finance Department of a large hospital group...I was an account payable associate (I paid the hospital's bills)...loved my job and the people I worked with. I would have had 21 years on the job if I had stayed another 9 months. I have been gone for 5 years and I still miss it.

I responded with "unemployed"...but...in point of fact, I am medically retired due to a spinal condition which has permanently disabled me, and left me unable to hold a job since 1994.

Yeah, I always forget to account for "retired". Many people have voted with the amount of years they have been retired, as if that is their job. I don't consider retired to be a job. I should have said in the description "If you are retired, tell me about how long you had your last job for, before you retired".

Sorry about your spinal condition, I know how crippling that can be. My mother had a spinal injury but thankfully after about 6 years of work cover and rehabilitation, she has finally been able to return to her chosen field of work without being in too much pain.

I'm happy for your mother, but my condition is, unfortunately, degenerative, so it will just continue to get worse the older I get. Thanks for the understanding & intelligent response...those are few and far between on here. lol

    All the best!

Retrofitting network and coax cabling in homes. Even new homes built in the last couple years where the builder didn't think to add that wiring before the insulation and drywall was installed. What would have cost $10 then costs $100 now.

My current job of retirement is almost ten years. My work job was 30 years, and than other miscellaneous jobs prior to that pretty much going back to when I first started working around 12 years of age. Had a total of 27 jobs.
