He didn't. It was Noah who built the ark. that was mentioned in the book of Genesis. Moses was first mentioned in Exodus.

Actually, Moses did have an ark (much smaller than Noah's).

    Cherubim are not animals.

What are they then? The Bible does not say.

Actually, there are descriptions which vary. They are on 'staff' with God--magnifying his holiness and in many cases serving as guardians. From what we can read of them we can surmise that they are angelic beings and not animals.
    Genesis 3:24, Ezekiel 28:12-15, Exodus 25:17-22; 26:1, 31; 36:8; 1 Kings 6:23-35; 7:29-36; 8:6-7; 1 Chronicles 28:18; 2 Chronicles 3:7-14; 2 Chronicles 3:10-13; 5:7-8; Hebrews 9:5, Ezekiel 1:5, Ezekiel 10, Ezekiel 1:10; also 10:14, Ezekiel 1:5, Ezekiel 1:6, 11, 23, Ezekiel 1:8; 10:7-8, 21, Revelation 4:6-9

Surmise means nothing to me. The Israelites under Moses knew what they were but we don't even have the images they made 3,400 years ago to go by. We only have "artists' conceptions".

We know that they are on staff with God. That puts them in the angelic realm, not the animal kingdom.

Isn't any creature "on staff with God"? That phrase does not describe what kind of creature it is.

Angels do not have bodies in the way that any of the animal kingdom, including humans, have them.

Where does it call cherubims angels?

If they don't have bodies, how did the Israelites represent them on the ark of the covenant.

Dave, do some research! I only gave you enough passages to keep you busy for awhile. If you don't want to look up all of the passages, turn to the Bible dictionary in the back of your scriptures. It defines Cherubim as heavenly creatures, the exact form is unknown. Heavenly creatures are angelic, Dave. We don't KNOW what they look like which is why the exact form is listed as unknown.

The Bible Dictionary can only know about them what the Bible knows. I do not take someone else's authority without the confirmation of the Holy Spirit.

And yet the ark of the covenant had representations of cherubim, so at the time, their form was known.

    Pele Emerging
    Not necessarily.
Why are you arguing for the sake of arguing? Since you are LDS, I took the reference right out of the LDS Bible dictionary. If you must have confirmation, get it. However, arguing for arguments sake is not exactly the way to do it.

The (LDS) Bible Dictionary says: "Figures representing heavenly creatures, the exact form being unknown. They are found in the Holy of Holies, on the Mercy Seat of the Ark (Ex. 25:18, 22; 1 Kgs. 6:23–28; Heb. 9:5), and in the visions of Ezekiel (Ezek. 10; 11:22). In the account of the Fall, cherubim are represented as keeping "the way of the tree of life" (Gen. 3:24)." Nothing there about what they are or look like. And the Bible Dictionary does not say they are angelic (nor does the Bible).

Did you also look up Angels in our Bible Dictionary?

But then you interpreted it to mean what it did not say.

And actually, it says, "figures representing heavenly creatures," not just "heavenly creatures".

If you tell me that the Holy Spirit tells you to keep arguing, I'm not going to believe you. Common sense tells me to stop and that I should have stopped several posts ago.

I can't calculate that right now. I leave that to the baraminologists--those who work out the number of created kinds that God made on Day Six. Take those kinds and multiply by two.

But this page gives a good idea of how much they weighed: anywhere from 400 to 500 metric tons, all told.

    http://www.worldwideflood.com...

That page also talks about the food and water that the Ark had to carry.

According to the bible there are two stories which conflict... One says 2 and the other says 7... Why the odd number,,, those were to be sacrificed...However it was Noah...

There is no conflict, and it is one story, just two groups of animals: the ones fit to be eaten (7) and the ones not fit to be eaten (2).

Moses didn't have the ark--unless you count the ark of the covenant. It was Noah who had the ark full of animals.

Here is some more information on the phony Flood...

Likewise, Genesis 7:17 states that the flood lasted 40 days:

The flood continued forty days on the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.

But Genesis 7:24, a portion of the second flood story, states that the flood remained for 150 days:

And the waters swelled on the earth for one hundred fifty days.

Shortly thereafter in Genesis 8:6, the story switches back to the first flood story, and the number 40 returns:

Which was it, 40 or 150... another screw up in the book of Fairy Tales....

It's one story. The rain fell for 40 days, but the waters remained for much longer. Pay attention.

The Flood and the Rain are two different aspects. When it stops raining the waters still have to find somewhere to go before the flood ends. Call yourself a dingbat why don't you?
