I prefer rainy 'gloomy' weather. That is why I love it when it rains for days on end(which seems to happen less often as of late, at least where I am at.). But you may be right I may get sick of it if it was everyday...Still if I had to choose I would pick rain or snow...I like late autumn and winter over hot ass sunny weather, but again it goes back to your statement. If I don't have the crappy hot weather, the cool rainy weather may lose it's charm.
I've always wanted to move to the UK because of the cooler climate. Want to trade? You can have the bi-polar weather here, and I'll take your gloomy weather there.
I do think you would soon tire of this weather here. I do love the rain at times especially when it`s been hot, it can be so refreshing. Our weather at the moment is quite cool, the skies are dull + heavy with grey + black clouds, we`ve only had odd days recently when the sun has broken through. I love the Autumn when all the colours are quite beautiful. Snow also looks so beautiful but when it melts it`s slushy + dirty here. Sometimes i think our seasons have been lost, the winter is getting longer, spring runs into what should be summer + Autumn is getting shorter.!!!!.
That sounds like a great place to live! The snow getting slushy and dirty happens here as well...Autumn is a beautiful time of year, now I want to go to the UK this Autumn. While I have only seen the UK via pictures and movies/TV, I think it is a beautiful country anytime of the year. I envy you lol, not only is your country beautiful, it isn't flooded with ignorant red-necks. I would love to live in the UK.
I think you are correct about the climate changes. The winters here are getting milder, summers are getting hotter.
The Grass always looks Greener on the other side. We have our problems here in the UK, High Unemployment, although they massage the figures. For young people there`s few opportunities, you have to be Extremely lucky to get full time employment with a decent wage. Housing is Very Expensive..Young people have little chance of owning their own home or even renting a decent place. We have an immigration problem, whole areas of the UK have been taken over by Indians + Pakistani's which has caused many problems here. I believe 10,000 Indians every day are trying to get in here besides all the illegals + those from Eastern Europe, Africa + other Asian countries. The cost of living is high. One of my sons lives in Switzerland, i doubt very much if he`ll come back to the UK. I could go on but i think you get the picture. There are so many similarities between our 2 countries. I think you just have to make the best you can of what you have + where you are unless you can change things for the better + that usually involves a lot of money which is in short supply for most people.
Wow our countries are really similar....almost identical. Damn...
When it comes to the cost of living the money issue wouldn't be that big of a deal for me though. I don't need anything bigger than an efficiency apartment (small studio flat) hell I could probably make due with just a room. I don't eat much...healthy but not much....Don't get me wrong I enjoy having money. Mainly because I have epensive hobbies like the computer sciences(I work in the IT field while I finish my degree so go figure), collect rare/imported action figures/statues just to name two. I know it won't be cheap to move to any country, but if I can get by I'd be fine with that. However I wouldn't want to add to the problems your country is dealing with. So I will likely just visit the UK. I still want to move out of the states though. Oh Switzerland is on my list...mainly due to physics reasearch at CERN but getting a chance to work there is probably slim to say the least. *shrugs* Who knows I may decide I want to stay in the states.
Yes too many similarities to be just coincidental i feel !!!. I think all our governments are connected in some way + we do have the EU to contend with here, they do dictate to us. There are times i think it`s Global control of the people, too much is happening, i know our way of life + our culture is slowly disappearing !!!. I talk to another user from your state, he was interested in the UK, it amazes me the similarities we both have !!. My son is 34, he has never stopped studying, he obtained a 1st class masters in Organic Chemistry, then got his PHD, did 2yrs post doc + could`nt get a job with a liveable wage, he then did an intensive course for a year at Queen Mary university in London to train as a Patent Attorney in the Chemistry field before anyone would take him on as a trainee. He now works for a large company in the Agriculture + Horticulture field of Chemistry. He works very hard + under a lot of pressure. He says just a normal Degree wont get anyone far nowadays !!, you have to keep on studying. It`s a tough World. It`s Very Expensive to live in Switzerland + they have so many laws for all kinds of things you would`nt imagine !!. He`s hoping to move over the border to France as the housing is cheaper. There are web sites you can go on for information. He is lucky as the company he works for is mostly English speaking, he only has basic knowledge of the Swiss language. There`s a lot involved going to another country to live + work.
nice and warm and sunny today :) woohoo just in time for the weekend
Have a good one !
You soon get fed up of the rain, it`s so gloomy here.
