How do you typically answer the phone?

Usually I saw "hello" but occasionally if it's the home phone I say "hello, [my name] speaking"....or if it's my work phone, I saw "Hungry Jack's, [my name] speaking" ;)

i assume people know who they're speaking to if they've called me

We got caller ID. So screen who I speak too.

I simply state my last name....IE Johnson....then wait. By the way...my name is not Johnson. LOL

... meh, i let it go to voicemail. lol!

i answer be going.......... yellow? or yo? or ya? or just the blunt what ya want? depends on my mood

I try not to answer it! If I'm at work I have to say my name.

Hey, babe. want to "do it" tonight? Last time i did this it was my grandpa and he said "sure". hahah i had to laugh. Of course i have done it with him before ;)

It really depends on who is calling.

Although when bothered by fool calls I sometimes answer 'Sheriff's Department, front desk. How may I help you?"

Then there was the answering machine message I used for awhile...

Sometimes to creep them out I'll speak with an accent.

I never give my name. If they don't know it they shouldn't be calling me. Usually I just look at the caller ID anyway but if I'm bored and feel like playing, I'll answer. I like to say "What? I can't hear you!" until they hang up. Or "I think he's taking a crap. What do you want?"

I use my hands to pick up the phone and hit the button to accept the call.

"Privet, kak vy deleash?". Or, "hello, how are you doing?". (that's how the words are written out in pronunciation)

My answering machine does my answering

"Hello, China Wok, how can I take your order?" or "Grand Central Station." or "City Morge." They usually hang up, there problem solved. I hate talking on the phone.

Just a plain old "Hello"

At work it's "Hello this is Joanna." Friends and family may be "Hey." And if I'm feeling bored I may answer, "Pacos Tacos and Pet Crematorium" to my friends.
