Watching a BBC story about some women wanting injections for birth control instead of pills. so their husbands wouldn't know .
Just curious of what you all think about this.

Scream 2012/07/11 10:56:15Woman's decision, she can do what she wants without husband knowing+4This is what happens in an abusive relationship when someone wants their partner to get pregnant to keep them from leaving. They refuse to let their partner get access to birth control or abortions. They refuse to use a condom. They threaten their partner if the partner tries to get access to these things. It's called reproductive coercion or birth control sabotage. This is a great idea for the partners in these situations.

Prior to dying, my mother confessed to my father that she lied about being on birth control when I was conceived. She also lied about being on birth control when both my older and younger brothers were conceived. By this time, we were in our twenties. All my father could do was laugh.
But if the man really wants kids and thinks they are trying, and the woman is hiding birth control, well that's just a crappy thing to do. Communication agogo :)
I do think that there are some cultural mores - even in the United States - in the older generation where they are much more private and think that revealing medical information to anyone but their doctor is taboo.
