Honestly I am not a fan of Rap music has a genre of music but I do like old school Rap music much better than today's mainstream (C)Rap.

I am more into R&B;(my favorite genre of music) and Classic Rock

Honestly I believe at this moment, Rap music is getting out of control and out of hand.

I like the older stuff, and it annoys me when people say it's not music and then turn around and listen to dubstep etc.

I like rap music occasionally. I think what is on the radio now is a bit much and i hardly listen to it, but i do enjoy a "krunk" song now and again!

I'm bias I'm a rocker from the 60's and 70's and I play a strat,so I know what skill and practice it takes to really play and or sing musically.It's basically an electronic beat with rhyming and lyrics that are supposed to shock the feeble minded.It was better when it first started but I hated Disco in it's day but I like Disco better than any rap song ever! This is an old clip but he sums it up. Peace You're young so I get why you would like it,it's all you know and have been bombarded with that music all your life;Just like I was. Songs I didn't like.But after hearing them so many times they grew on me.

You're welcome.This is considered the first Rap song to top the charts.Blondie(the group) got the idea when Debbie Harry the lead singer heard hip hop/rappers Fab Five Freddy and Grandmaster Flash.The song title is Rapture and was considered Disco,R&B,Pop or New Wave.Nobody really heard of Hip-Hop it was new in the Black culture. Made in 1980 released in 81 it was the 1st Rap video on MTV.I liked it btw. :)The 12" Disco single was 12 mins. long. It made #1 on Billboard hot 100 and was re-released in 1986 and again made the charts.

Blondie helped make Rap music mainstream and made it appeal to a broader audience.

Plus as years go by, I find myself listening to Rap less and less and listening to Classic Rock more and more. I don't know why except for the fact Rap music's quality has really deteriorated over the years.

And your tastes are probably maturing. ;) True about Blondie it was the first rap song to top the charts,while others had made it somewhere on the charts but only to a select audience.Also Walk This Way redone helped white kids get into rap too.I literally remember on NYC 11:00 PM news the first broadcast as a special interest story.You know the last one they show. And it was a new type of singing like the doo-wop of the 50's people on doorsteps and corners of Brooklyn are singing what they call rapping.It began in the country of Jamaica in the 1960's Then Brooklyn.The clip I found once it was i think 1977?? from the news.

Yes, thanks for the information and it is ironic because my family is Jamaican but I am American born.
As I listen to more Classic Rock, I believe Led Zeppelin is the best out of all the bands. You agree?

In Rapture she mentions Flash and Fab 5 freddy.Yes I've heard all of those songs 'Old Skool'.As much as I tried I don't like most country,rap and all opera.lol It is just an opinion and personal taste.And whatever makes someone happy that doesn't hurt others is fine by me. ;)

I don't like Country or Opera either. I am the same way when it comes to Country music.
I see where you are coming from. Honestly I haven't listened to Rap often unless it is old school, underground, and a few good rappers out today.
I don't like Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne or today's Rap. Today's Rap has really turned me off. I have gotten into Classic Rock recently though
