I am OCD, and part of that is a MAJOR aversion to body hair, so yes, I DO, I am a normal heterosexual guy that just doesn't think body hair is appealing at all. I an okay with a beard and moustache, maybe a little chest, but anywhere else is gross..i don't want to look like I should be walking on my knuckles. Women with really hairy arms just grosses me out so bad I can't even look!
I don't do it anymore, but back in my forties when I use to workout at the gym five and sometimes six days a week, and used to run thirty to forty miles a week, and cycled sometimes a hundred miles a week, I shaved my legs, and so did all the other buff guys at the gym, not that I was buff. I wasn't, and NOT that I paid that any attention, but I did it anyway. I had the best legs there. I could press over eight hundred pounds on the leg press, fill the thing up, both sides, with forty-five pound plates. And now ten and more years later I have arthritis in every load bearing joint in my body, especially hips and knees. Go figure.
If you're talking about body hair on women I agree except for that certain area below where they need some hair so they won't look like underage jail bait. A little. A nice trim. But if you're talking about on men I can't agree. When I was shaving my legs I was also shaving my underarms and trimming that other area. Otherwise I'm red headed or was when I was younger and didn't have a surplus of body hair and most of what I did have didn't show up well. I know that many body builders shave their entire body. If that's what you want to do then go for it. I wasn't that seriously into body building. I just wanted to be in shape and impress some women. I did and unfortunately she led me astray.
Not that I'm totally against leg hair if they are insistent in keeping it, but I prefer no hair on anyone besides on their head. Facial hair is also debatable and only okay if it is just stubble... and even then it is on the fringe. But chest, armpit, back, and nether regions hair? No thank you.
Plus guys, if you don't want to shave as often, just wax :) Not only does it stay away longer, it comes back lighter ^^
Men shaving their legs is very common among serious cyclists. The thinking behind the practice is that in the event of a crash, slide and road rash that it is easier to clean, treat and heal if the skin is shaved. I ride but I don't shave my legs. I'm such a risk taker. Livin' on the edge! Just want to add that some serious riders with well developed leg muscles will shave to highlight the extent of their cut or state of rippedness.
I barely like shavin' my own.
